What can hurt someone, just as easily as can comfort them?

Words!

As I touched on in yesterday’s blog post Watch your Words, it can be so very easy to say things which to the listener can be hurtful, even though that wasn’t the intention.

At the opposite end of the scale, words can be full of love and affection and can offer the strength and encouragement to someone at a time of deepest need. Personally this week I’ve experienced so many of the later…words of comfort and encouragement.

Psalm 46:1 (NIV)

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

It is wonderful when folk offer words of encouragement and support during a time of struggle and concern. Because of this I’ve been reminded of the wonderful piece of music entitled My Comfort and Strength, as it has been exactly what I’ve received from so many of you this week.

Thank you all for your support and prayers, it really is appreciated.

As always though, I know my biggest comforter and source of strength this week has been Jesus. I thank Him for always being with me and giving me the strength to get through each day and support my Mum during this difficult time.

Thanks for your recent posts. Very true, I have to be careful not to take some people’s comments the wrong way if I am ‘not at my best’.

    Bless you.
