In yesterday’s blog post, Wisdom To Accept, I quoted the following prayer to you:
God let me accept the things I can’t change, courage to change things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
Yesterday I focused on why we must accept things we can’t change. Now today I want to focus on the challenge of trying to change the things we can.
There can be situations that arise where it can be obvious to us that with some input from us could have a positive impact on the situation. Other times there may be nothing which makes us think we can help change things for the good, and then there are those times when we can see how we may be able to help but the situation seems too challenging or daunting for us that we try to pretend we can’t help.
Any of those situations ringing a bell with you?
I can certainly think of some circumstances where I’ve ignored a situation I could have helped with, simply because I didn’t want to get involved or felt I wouldn’t be able to provide the level of help needed. It’s at times like these that we must remember that God will guide us, and show us the situations He wants and needs us to get involved in or help with. We simply need to ask God to give us the courage to help.
