You are always having impact…but is it the impact you want?

What you say, how you say it, and what you do, all combine to determine the kind of impact you have on others.

I know at times I am guilty of saying things in a way that I shouldn’t and also doing things, which give others a bad impression of me and what I stand for. These days I usually realise as soon as I’ve said or done something I shouldn’t have done, what I’ve done. However that wasn’t always the case, as in the past I’ve been guilty of being unaware of my failings, and therefore didn’t even realise the impact I may be having on others.

These days however, I try to apologise to those concerned when I’ve said or done something I shouldn’t have done. I know that doesn’t positive impactmean it makes it ok for me to say/do things I shouldn’t. So, to those of you I’ve annoyed/upset by saying something, or saying something in a way I shouldn’t, or done something I shouldn’t have, I apologise and ask your forgiveness.

Believe me, I am trying to be a better, more loving, caring and understanding person, but I find it very difficult when I’ve struggling physically or emotionally with life, so please bear with me, and please don’t take anything I say or do in these circumstances to heart because I won’t have meant it the way it’s come across.

I want to be a good influence on people, and have a positive impact on other’s lives, and I know I can achieve this with God‘s help.

We can all have a positive impact on others if we give our lives to Jesus, because He can guide us in all situations and help us be the influence He knows we can be. That’s what I’ve done, how about you?

The last couple of days I’ve talked about happiness and how true happiness can only truly be found when we give our lives to God. Today though it’s all about the happiest day in believers lives…the day our sins were forgiven, the day Christ died on the cross and then rose again…

Happy Day by Tim Hughes

The greatest day in history, Death is beaten
You have rescued  me
Sing it out Jesus is alive
The empty cross, The empty grave
Life  eternal You have won the day
Shout it out Jesus is alive
He’s  alive

Oh happy day, happy day
You washed my sin  away
Oh happy day, happy day
I’ll never be the same
Forever I am  changed

When I stand, in that place
Free at last,  meeting face to face
I am Yours Jesus You are mine
Endless joy, perfect  peace
Earthly pain finally will cease
Celebrate Jesus is alive
He’s  alive

Oh happy day, happy day
You washed my sin away
Oh happy day, happy day
I’ll never be the same
Forever I am  changed

Oh what a glorious day
What a glorious way
That You  have saved me
Oh what a glorious day
What a glorious name

Oh happy day, happy day
You washed my sin  away
Oh happy day, happy day
I’ll never be the same
Forever I am  changed

 What a glorious glorious day,
I’ll never be the same

This Is Our God by Hillsong

Your grace is enough
More than I need
And your word I will believe
I wait for you
Draw near again
And your spirit make me new
And I will fall at your feet
I will fall at your feet
And I will worship you here

Your presence in me
Jesus light the way
By the power of your word
I am restored
I am redeemed
By your spirit i am free
And I will fall at your feet
I will fall at your feet
And I will worship you here

Freely you gave it all for us
Surrendered your life upon that cross
Great is your love
Poured out for all
This is our God

Lifted on high from death to life
Forever our God is glorified
Sovereign king
Rescued the world
This is our God

And I will fall at your feet
I will fall at your feet
And I will worship you here

And I will fall at your feet
I will fall at your feet
And I will worship you here

Freely you gave it all for us
Surrendered your life upon that cross
Great is your love
Poured out for all
This is our God

Lifted on high from death to life
Forever out God is glorified
Sovereign king
Rescued the world
This is our God

Have you fallen at God’s feet?

God gave up His Son for you, therefore I’d urge you to repay Him today by giving your life to Him by kneeling before Him and giving Him your heart.

There are some situations when no matter what you say or do, you can never say enough to offer the comfort and reassurance needed by someone.

In a similar way, sometimes when we are so upset about the things that are affecting our life or the life of those around us, our tears just do not seem to offer the comfort or the help needed.

So sometimes our tears just simply aren’t enough so what do we do? We turn to God. No matter how senseless of hopeless a situation may seem, God is there, and He understands our tears and knows our pain.

Tears Are Not Enough by Northern Lights

As every day goes by
How can we close our eyes
Until we open up our hearts

We can learn to share
And show how much we care
Right from the moment that we start

Seems like overnight
We see the world in a different light
Somehow our innocence is lost

How can we look away
‘Cause every single day
We’ve got to help at any cost

We can bridge the distance
Only we can make the difference
Don’t ya know that tears are not enough

If we can pull together
We could change the world forever
Heaven knows that tears are not enough

It’s up to me and you
To make the dream come true
It’s time to take our message everywhere

C’est l’amour qui nous rassemble
D’ici ?l’autre bout du monde
Let’s show them Canada still cares
You know that we’ll be there

If we should try together you and I
Maybe we could understand the reasons why
If we take a stand every woman, child and man
We can make it work for God’s sake lend a hand

I’ve said many times before in my blog that life can be so tough at times. I make no apology for repeating myself again today, as I feel it’s very important to remind ourselves frequently that it’s ok to find life tough.

Tough times never last. Tough people do ~ Robert H. Schuller

It’s true you know, although sometimes it may feel as though the tough times are unending, things will get better. Tough times call for tough people, and so as the above saying states, tough people do survive tough times…but let me put it another way for you…

It’s not tough people who survive tough times, it’s the people who have put their full trust in God to help them through tough times.

So I’d urge you if you haven’t accepted Christ as your Saviour, give your heart to Him today, because when tough times hit, He has promised to be there for you, and will help you survive those tough days.

Yesterday in Change Your Plans I spoke about how when we give our lives fully to God we must be willing to change our plans for our life. Today I want to clarify this as it may have sounded as though God is inflexible and will only accept us if we completely change our lives…that couldn’t be further from the truth!

Yes, God may require us to change our plans for our life because they may not be fitting for a Christian, however wherever you are on your Christian journey, God has a plan for you. i.e. God will meet you where you are, and He has a plan just for you.

So wherever we are in our Christian journey – taking our first tentative steps or life-long Christian taking our final breath, God still has a plan for us.

You may think that God cannot possibly have any explicit tasks for you, but He has.

You may not think that you can achieve anything God wants you to do, but you can.

All these things you can do because God loves you unconditionally, and He will help you in every situation you find yourself in – So trust God’s plans for you!

How many times have you or asked, or heard someone else ask, why God let’s people experience difficult situations? I guess we’ve all asked that question at some time or another…quite possibly when we’ve been in the depths of some difficult situation ourselves.

God doesn’t let give us difficult situations and event to deal with in our lives, just for the sake of it, or to make us question Him, He allows it because it makes us stronger people. I know for myself my faith is far stronger now than it was prior to the onset of my illness a few years ago. That’s doesn’t mean these last years have been easy, far from it, as during this time I’ve questioned whether God actually loves and cares for me and even whether He even existed!

Yes, I’ve been through some tough times, and am continuing to find things tough for additional reasons these days, however I know I am far for fortunate than many others who have to deal with much more challenging and difficult situations that I’ve had to cope with. I also now acknowledge that God has never left my side, no matter how alone and desolate I’ve felt, but that He is always with me guiding and helping me.

God brings men into deep waters, not to drown them, but to cleanse them ~ John Aughey

It’s the challenges we encounter in life and how we cope with them, that moulds us into the people we are today, and the people we will become in the future. Let’s not question God’s will for us, but allow Him to cleanse us even if that means having to fight our way through deep water.

We can know, before the battle ever begins, that we will win if we keep our eyes on Christ.

True words, but words which I guess we sometimes forget when we face struggles and battles in life. That is why, again, I want to remind you that throughout your life, no matter whether you are finding life easy to cope with or whether it’s a struggle to face each day, don’t forget to turn to God, because He is always by your side.

I’ve found in my life that even when I’m really struggling and I feel as though God has deserted me, He hasn’t, He’s just been biding His time before He lifts me out of my struggle. God has a reason for not rescuing us from our struggles as soon as they happen, and that is so we can grow in faith and trust.

So throughout your life, keep focusing on Christ, because He is always focused on what’s best for you!

Jesus never said it would be easy, but He said it would be worth it! (Matthew 7:13-14)

Yesterday I reminded myself, and you, that God is working things out for us, even when we might feel as if he’s miles away from us. Today it’s just a gentle reminder that just because we love God and have given our lives to Him, that doesn’t mean we’ll have an easy life.

In fact, when we give our lives to God, it’s then that we can often find life toughest. Not because God is punishing us for loving Him, but because He’s teaching us how to cope in adversity, how to love when others hate us and how to trust Him when there seems no hope. And if through all that we still love Him, He has promised us that life will be more than worth the effort, because ultimately we will be rewarded in Heaven when we meet Him face to face.

Are you aware that other people are always judging you based on what you say and do, and how you act in every situation?

If you are a Christian, does what you say and do reflect Christ in a positive and loving way?

Be honest with yourself (and with God) when you answer that last question. I’m sure there are times when we all say or do things which make God cringe, but at least if we are able to identify these times when we let God down, it’s a good step in the right direction!

The next step of course is to ask God to help us speak, and act as He would want us to. Let’s make sure we reflect Christ in all we say and do.
