All the Way My Saviour Leads Me by Chris Tomlin

I am so glad I believe and trust the words of the above song…

All the way my Saviour leads  me
Who have I to ask beside
How could I doubt His tender mercy
Who through life has been my guide

Because, I am sure that without God by my side, I would not have got through these last few years, never mind these last few months.

I believe God can help me through every situation I encounter in life, and I believe He can, and will help you too, all you have to do is let Him lead you.

Yesterday I asked Do You Really Know Me?, and then highlighted that we can often know people for many years, but in reality not really know anything about them.

When we look at someone, we all (often subconsciously) judge them or put a label on them. Based on how little we often know about people we’ve known and spoken to for years, isn’t it quite ridiculous that just from seeing someone for a few minutes we think we can put a label on them.

Maybe the labels we put on people are positive ones, e.g. happy, friendly, welcoming etc. But often I think we tend to look for the negative in people. e.g. By labelling them unhappy, depressed, distant, unloving etc.

Just last week I was the subject of just such an incident – Last week I was on a training course with a number of my colleagues, and at various points we broke into small groups to discuss or work through some examples. Well on one occasion (having been in the same group for the previous discussion) we were put into groups again to discuss another area, and I was informed that “you have to lead this discussion because you didn’t look very happy during the last one”.

I would have happily led the discussion if it hadn’t been for the reason I was being told I had to lead the discussions! Had anyone bothered to ask me why I hadn’t seemed very happy during the previous discussions? Had I told anyone that I was unhappy at the way the previous discussions were led?

The answer to both these questions was definitely No! If anyone had bothered to ask me why I didn’t seem very happy, I would have told them why – I wasn’t feeling too good and was in a lot of pain.

Why am I telling you all this? Well I just want to highlight how easy it can be to make wrong assumptions about people. Assumptions which can then lead to things being said or done which hurt or upset others.

God doesn’t judge us on what He sees on the outside, it’s the inside that’s important. So I’d urge each of us to try not to judge others on how they look, talk to folk and find out about the real person inside…don’t jusge others from the outside, we’d hate it if they judged us simply by what they see!

No matter who we are or what we do, we all have people in our lives who lead us in various aspects of our lives.

Are you a leader? You may not feel as though you have the ability or knowledge to lead or direct others, but I believe that within each of us there is a leader waiting to get out!

God gives each of His followers the tools to lead others to Him. That might mean that we’re able to stand up in front of loads of people and proclaim God’s message; It may mean that we can help the homeless and lonely find peace and happiness again; It might mean we’re able to inspire and encourage others who are struggling in their faith; It might mean none of these things and it might mean all of them…ultimately God gives each of us unique abilities so that we are able to do just what He needs us to do and where he needs us to do it.

Do you still think you don’t lead? Do you still think you can’t lead?

God will give you the guidance and the direction He needs and wants you to go in, so talk to Him about it…pray…God will help you become a great leader for Him.

Ever noticed how you can be dead on your feet but when you go to bed you’re suddenly wide awake and unable to sleep because so many things are going round and round in your head.

Why do we have night’s like this?

Maybe it’s because during the day we’re just running on adrenaline and emotions, and don’t get a chance to stop and think all we’re coping with or all that’s happening. However when we go to bed, we are not focused on anything other than the quietness around us so our brain goes into overdrive – we relive every conversation of the day and remember ever “conversation” we had with ourselves.

Times like these can be tough because when we’re coping with a lot of things going on in our lives that’s when we need our sleep more than ever, however it’s also the time when we find it hardest to “empty” our minds of all our thoughts and fears when we try to sleep.

If only our brain was like a car and we could turn of the engine so we could sleep/recharge before restarting our engine (brain) when we awake in the morning.

That was Hillsong singing Lead Me To The Cross, I hope you enjoyed it and were blessed by the message.

But today I want to ask you to consider this, have you been lead to the cross? Or is it time for you to find your way back to the cross again?

This Easter open your heart to God, let Him in, and let Him lead you to the cross…it change your life around for the better.

Lead Me To The Cross by Hillsong

Saviour I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and trialed
You are
Te word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you’re risen

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart

Angels Unaware by Michael W Smith

Maybe there’s a light in my soul
Maybe it flickers like a neon sign outside an
abandoned hotel
Maybe there are things you just can’t know
But can you say there are no mysteries in the
house you choose to dwell
Maybe we are entertaining angels unaware
Maybe there’s a place where we will fly
But some say God is dead like Nietzsche said and
faith has made me a fool
But maybe there is more than meets the eye
Who’s that stranger there beside you? don’t be
smug and don’t be cruel
Maybe we are entertaining angels unaware

Battles of the heart and of the mind
We stay caught in mental purgatory ’til our
existence can be defined
Meanwhile on the shores of parallel
There may be a holy conference held somewhere
discussing all mankind
Maybe we are entertaining angels unaware
I say maybe we are entertaining angels unaware
Angels unaware

Soaring, somewhere, longing, reaching
Searching, knowing, loving, caring

Let me take you by the hand
Lead you to the promised land
And trust him with your heart
He’ll lead you home

Whether you believe in angels or not, God is certainly beside us all the time. Trust God with your heart, and He will lead you home…to heaven.

Don’t go through life unaware of God’s presence in your life because He is there with you – He knows you, He loves you, He cares for you and He will lead you home…to heaven.

Lead Me To The Cross

Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemption’s hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and tried
Human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you’re risen
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as loss

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh Lead me, lead me to the cross

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart

God’s love for us is all about the cross. Why? Because that’s where God made the ultimate sacrifice for each one of us, He let his one and only son Jesus Christ die on a cross at Calvary, just so we could be forgiven of all our sins.

So why is the cross still so important? Well the cross is the eternal sign of God’s love for each one of us. It where we must come and kneel before God, and give our sins and our whole lives back to God. Have you knelt at the foot of the cross?

If you haven’t, you can kneel before God anywhere and rededicate your life to Him…do it now, do it today…He is waiting for you to kneel before Him.

Matthew 10:37-38 (NIV)

Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

Our Respective Tasks

O Lord Supreme,
Teach my mind
How to sleep without a futile dream.
O Lord Supreme,
Teach my heart
How to regain my ancient dream-
The dream that revealed
You and I are one,
The dream that distributed
Our respective tasks:
You the Monarch of Heaven,
And I the Monarch of Earth.

Do you think your dreams are just random thoughts that come together in strange and unpredictable way? Well they are not, they are created by God based on His desires for our life. However they do pull on our conscious and unconscious aspirations.

When we awaken that’s when our dreams move into our consciousness. This is when we become aware of the content of our dreams, dreams which God has placed in our consciousness. God wants us to follow His dreams for our lives, but it’s still up to us to choose to accept these dreams as one we want to follow or aspire to. Let God help you reach your potential, accept His dreams for your life.

Brian Doerksen sings Lead Us Lord (Dream Again):

Lead Us Lord (Dream Again) by Brian Doerksen)

Here we stand
At a crossroads again
Like you said
In time the seasons change

Looking back
We recall the blessing and the pain
But now we turn our hearts toward
What is still to come
We want to dream again

Lead us Lord
Into a life of fruitfulness
Prepare our hearts to risk again
As we trust
Taking simple steps of obedience we know
That you will lead us Lord

God will never let you go, no matter what you may have done in the past, or what you may do in the future. Even so, let lead you and guide you through each day…He will never let you go.

Never Let Me Go
In the shadows; My spirit weak
Love broke through the darkness and lifted me
And I know you’ll never let me go

In the storm in the raging sea
Love conquered the fear and delivered me
And I know you’ll never let me go

Oh love in the shadows
Be the light who leads me on
You’re love I will follow
Be my guide, You’re will be done
Oh Lord

In the arms of the One unseen
Love carried the cross that was meant for me
And I know you’ll never let me go

Oh love in the shadows
Be the light who leads me on
You’re love I will follow
Be my guide, You’re will be done

Oh Lord I surrender, now forever I’ll be loved
In the love of the Father, You are faithful You are strong
So hold me now, hold me now, hold me now

Nothing in this life has walked these streets
Love opened my eyes show me what You see
And I know I’ll never let You go

Are you ready and willing to give your heart to Jesus today?
Are you wondering what you need to do to let God into your heart?

It’s simple, ask God to lead you to the cross.

Lead Me To The Cross
Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and tried
Human
The word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you’re risen
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You
Oh Lead me, lead me to the cross

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart

God showed us just how much He loves us on that fateful day all those years ago, when Jesus, His son died on the cross at Calvary. What more could a father ever sacrifice than his one and only son.

Let God show you the way to the cross where you can kneel down before Him. When you do so, He will forgive you of every sin you have ever committed. He will then help and guide you through every day – He’ll be there for you when you need Him most and will rejoice when you rejoice.

Let God lead you through the rest of your life.
