I’m alive and well
Your spirit is within me
Because you died and rose again

I am alive, but I don’t always feel well. However in a spiritual sense all is well.

That hasn’t always been the case though I’m afraid, as I have been through some very dark times, when I did question God, and felt He had deserted me. However having got through those times, I know that the only reason I made it through those days was because God was with me and He was the one responsible for helping me through those days.

God lives in me, and I pray that as I live each day, others may realise these is something different about me, and that they can see Christ in me.

Amazing love
How can it can
That thou my God should die for me

I find it totally amazing that someone should died just so I can forever be forgiven of my sins. I don’t know about you, but I know of no-one else that would actually be willing to give their life for me.

Christ died over 2 thousand years ago, but still we celebrate His life, and His death after all these years. Who else can we say that about?!

As I’ve said several times over the last few days, I feel so humble and inadequate at all God has sacrificed for me, and all He continues to do for me. However, I know I can repay God for all the love He shows me on a daily basis, by giving the whole of my life to God.

How about you, are you thanking God for all he does for you by giving your life to Him? If you haven’t done so yet, today, Easter Monday is your day to say “Yes“, to Christ!

clockSometimes it can feel as though God is nowhere to be found when you need Him most. But don’t despair, because God is with you, and He will be there for you at just the right time with just what you need.

The Lord is never late, He always arrives at just the right time with just the right things in His hands

How many times must we try to do things by ourselves and fail before we remember that it’s only when we put our faith and trust in God, He will provide the strength we need to get us through each and every situation we find ourselves in?

I know I tend to be quite an independent person and try not to have to ask others for help if I can help it, but what I do need to constantly remind myself is that its ok to ask for help, particularly when its God we’re asking to help us.

Don’t try to get through life on your own, because you’ll fail. Instead, rely on God to provide you with the strength you need to get through the problems of life.

In the last couple of weeks I keep coming across references to the following quote:

God may not get us out of a situation, but He will give us the strength to get through it.

I don’t think it’s coincidence that I’ve been reminded of this quote on a regular basis recently, because, as many of you will know, there are a number of situations going on in my life just now which mean I’ve finding life quite difficult at present.

The one consolation I have is that I truly believe the above words…that God will give me the strength to get through it! Therefore, no matter how distant God may seem to you just now, don’t give up, because God is with you, and He will help you get through these difficult days.

Have you ever felt like a lost cause?

Have you ever felt that someone you know and love is a lost cause?

Dont despair, there are no lost causes in God‘s eyes only unsaved ones!

With God, all things are possible so never think anyone is a lost cause, simply keep on believing and praying for the “lost cause” and God will answer your prayers. Just remember not to be impatient with God when He doesn’t answer your prayers as quickly as you’d like, or in the way you’d like, because God has a plan for everyone’s life and will answer your prayers in the way He knows is best.

Trust God and believe because in God’s eyes no-one is a lost cause.

God may not be pleased with all your behaviours, but He is pleased and delighted with YOU! (Psalm 18:19)

Yes, we all fail God on many occasions simply because we are human, and do not put our full trust in God, but that doesn’t stop God loving us because of it. God loves us and delights in each and every one of us, because He made us.

We are all individuals, but that’s because God made each one of us. Therefore keep delighting God by continuing to do His will and seeking His help to be the best we can be. Let’s please God in all we do!

Psalm 70:5 (NIV)

But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me O God. You are my help and my deliverer; Lord, do not delay.

Yes, we always know when we are in need don’t we, but do we always turn to the one person who can always help us? I’m quite an independent person and don’t like to rely on anyone for anything, therefore if I’m honest with myself, with you and with God, I must admit that when I am in need, I often struggle on on my own, thinking things will get better.

Unsurprisingly things don’t normally get any better all by themselves! It’s only when I take my problems/burdens to God and leave them with Him, that I feel my needs are being answered.

The moral of this is, whenever we’re in need, turn to God right away and tell Him your problems and your needs, because He alone can answer your prayers!

Here’s the Pasadena Tabernacle Songsters of the Salvation Army singing Come To Me - It fits perfectly with my thoughts for today, and is a song which has meant a lot to me during some difficult time:

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works so that no one can boast.

Have you been saved by God?

If not, what’s stopping you?

If so, I bet the day you got saved, was the happiest day of your life! When we get saved not only does it make us happy, it makes God happy because we are accepting God’s presence in our lives, and committing to live our life for Him.

But what makes God even happier?

When you get saved, God puts a smile on your face. When you grow up, you put a smile on God’s face.

i.e. When our faith and trust in God grows, so does what we can achieve for God, and that is what makes God smile.

A few weeks ago I came across the following which was titled ”The Seven Keys to Life“:

  1. God first
  2. Love one another
  3. Never hate
  4. Give generously
  5. Live simply
  6. Forgive quickly
  7. Be kind to everyone

What do you think? I think it’s a good list to follow. After all if we always put God first in our life how can we go wrong!

Did you notice that at number 7 is that word “forgive” again – It seems to have come up a lot in my blog posts this weeks (i.e. in The Power of Forgiveness and Always Forgive?), doesn’t that just show how important it is that we do actually forgive those who hurt us in any way.

So the key to living life is summarised in the seven keys listed above…is it really that easy?

Yes, seven may not seem like much but each one of those items are very difficult to do, particularly all the time. Therefore as with everything in life, we must put our faith and trust in God, and allow Him to help and guide us in life. Keep focusing on God and you’ll find you’re able to succeed at these living life the way God needs and wants you to.
