If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won’t survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare,
especially in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone’s hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God’s healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways
you may never even know.

Sometime, in fact if I’m honest, a lot of the time, I take so much of what I have and what I’m able to do, for granted. I forget how privileged I am to have my freedom, family, friends, food, shelter. It’s only when I read something like the above, that I am reminded of these things.

How about you, do you take time out each day to say thank you to God for all you have?

I have now added to my prayer book, my need to say thank you to God more regularly for all I have, and to pray for those who are not fortunate enough to enjoy the same privileges in life as I do.

At the end of the day, whoever we are, and wherever we are, we can be assured that God is always with us.

The World Around Us

The last few days we’ve been having some beautiful sunny and hots days, I’ve found myself being more aware of the world around me, the beautiful flowers, trees, rivers, fields etc.

You know I see these things every day, but it’s only now when we have a few nice days I suddenly seem to have noticed it all again. How about you, do you notice the world around you each day?

Never mind whether you notice the world around you, but do you thank God each day for the world he created for you to live in? being honest, I don’t. I like many take the world around me for granted so often, and don’t really appreciate all the beautiful things God has provided in this world for me to enjoy.

Make a promise to God today, to thank Him for providing so many beautiful things for us to enjoy in this world.

Angel On My Shoulder

Angel on my Shoulder

There’s an angel on my shoulder,
Though I’ve never heard her sing,
I know she keeps me safe each day
And close beneath her wing.
My angel does not
Play a harp or rest
In clouds all day.
She’s much too busy
Guarding me,
Keeping me from
Harm’s way.
She rejoices in
My life’s success
And weeps when
I’m in pain.
She picks me up
When I have failed
And helps me try again.
Tonight I’ll say a prayer for her,
And thank the Lord above
For sending me an angel
To lead me with her love.

Beautiful poem.

Have you got an angel on your shoulder? Have you thanked God for sending you an angel?

Angels Wish by Steven Curtis Chapman :

Was God smiling when He spoke the word and made the world?
And did He cry about the flood?
What does God’s voice sound like when He sings, when He’s angry?
These are just a few things that the angels have on me

Well, I can’t fly at least not yet
I’ve got no halo on my head
And I can’t even start to picture heaven’s beauty
But I’ve been shown the Savior’s love
The Grace of God has raised me up
To show me things the angels long to look into
And I know things the Angels only wish they knew

I have seen the dark and desperate place where sin will take you
I’ve felt loneliness and shame
And I have watched the blinding light of grace
Come breaking through with a sweetness only tasted
By the forgiven and redeemed

And someday I’ll sit down with my angel friends
Up in heaven
And they’ll tell me about Creation
And I’ll tell them a story of Grace

Well, I can’t fly at least not yet
I’ve got no halo on my head
And I can’t even start to picture heaven’s beauty
But I’ve been shown a Savior’s love
The Grace of God has raised me up
To show me things the angels long to look into
And I know things the Angels only wish they knew

Praise God

Do you praise God? Do you worship God?

When we praise God we glorify Him, and when we glorify Him we are doing His will. We worship God through our praise. Do you find the more you know about God the more you want to express it? The more we express our love and praise for God, the more we are receptive to learning more about God and what he has done and can continue to do in people’s lives.

In order to praise God we must have a personal understand of who God is and what He is all about. In other words we must have reason to thank God by understanding what He has done and continues to do for us.

In Psalm 50 and verse 23, the psalmist reminds us:
He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God.

All I Want

If you only had one thing in this world, what would you want it to be?

Money, home, family, friends, possessions are all things we often thank God for, or wish we had more of. But do we ever really acknowledge that God is all we need? My own answer would probably have to be a no. What about you?

We should not ever take God’s presence in our life for granted, not because He will ever leave us, but simply because we must never forget the amazing and wonderful things God has done and continues to do in our lives.

Today I acknowledge and thank God for being “all I need in this world”. I urge you to do the same.

All I Want (Michael W Smith)

All I have in this world
Is fire from above
All I have in this world
Is you
And all the journeys I have walked
I know you’ve walked them too
All I want is to be faithful
All I want is you

All I have is a love
That set my world on fire
Let it fall, let it burn in me
And oh to be a friend of God is all that I desire
All I want is to be faithful
All I want is you

All I want is you
All I want is you
All I want is you
Is you

All I have in this world
Is fire from above
All I have in this world
Is you
And all the journeys I have walked
I know you’ve walked them too
All I want is to be faithful
All I want is you

All I want is you
All I want is you
Da…oh oh oh
All I want is you
Is you
