You can close your eyes to things you don’t want to see, but you can’t close your heart to the things you don’t want to feel ~ Unknown

…and the most important thing you can feel in your heart is God!

When God enters your heart, there is no greater feeling.

When you accept God into your heart your life will change forever.

When did you let God into your life?

Is God still in your life?

Is He still at the centre of your life?

God can make your life feel brand new, and help you see and experience life in a whole new way, so kneel before Him today and give your life to Him. I can promise you it’ll be the best feeling you’ll ever have when you let Christ into your life!

attitudeI’m sure we have all either said or heard someone say, “They have a shocking attitude”.

Everyone’s attitude towards themselves, others and situations/events around them, is all determined by you, and no one else.

Some people are naturally positive all the time no matter what’s going on in their life, while others seem to constantly see the negative in everything.

God tells us though that our attitude to life is important and that positivity towards all life throws our way is the key.

Keep a good attitude no matter what is going on in your life ~ Colossians 3:12

Do you ever think there’s nowhere for you or that no one wants or needs you? I have, a lot!

But there is a place for each of us in this world, and we are all needed by someone.

God put each one of us on this earth for a reason. God as a plan for each of us.

Therefore, we must put our trust in God to direct and guide us through life, even when it seems we’re not needed by anyone. God needs us and if we put our trust in Him, He will help us achieve all He knows we can achieve.

So find your somewhere by putting your full trust in God because He need you.

How many times must we try to do things by ourselves and fail before we remember that it’s only when we put our faith and trust in God, He will provide the strength we need to get us through each and every situation we find ourselves in?

I know I tend to be quite an independent person and try not to have to ask others for help if I can help it, but what I do need to constantly remind myself is that its ok to ask for help, particularly when its God we’re asking to help us.

Don’t try to get through life on your own, because you’ll fail. Instead, rely on God to provide you with the strength you need to get through the problems of life.

Last Saturday I asked you whether you had ever noticed how there are some things which happen in films which never ever happen in real life – today it’s time for some more examples!

top15moviesHere’s a few examples which show what I’m saying:

  1. Once applied, lipstick will never ever come off
  2. During all police investigations it will be necessary to visit a strip club at least once
  3. Getaway cars never start first go…but the police cars always do
  4. Police cars will always slide to a dramatic stop in the midst of a crime scene
  5. Any police officer about to retire will probably die on their last day…especially if their family have planned a party!
  6. Police detectives never solve a case until they have been suspended from duty
  7. If staying in a haunted house, women will always investigate any strange noises wearing their most revealing nightwear
  8. You always know when there’s going to be a murder…the music tells you!
  9. When arranging to meet someone to tell them you know who the murderer is, you arrange to meet in a graveyard!
  10. If you are heavily outnumbered in a fight involving martial arts, your opponents will wait patiently to attack you one by one by dancing around you in a threatening manner until you have defeated their predecessor

Any of these sound familiar?

Obviously these are complete generalisations because not every film follows the above rules, but I’m sure you’ll agree, you can think of a lot which do!

When you were younger, do you remember playing dares? Each person in turn was dared by the rest of the group to do a particular thing which they wouldn’t normally do.

I don’t know about you, but I always hated that game. Maybe it’s because I have always been quite a quiet (don’t laugh!) and shy person, but I always hated having to put myself in situations I wouldn’t normally get embroiled in, or say things to people I wouldn’t normally say.

There’s one dare however that we should all be willing to do…

Dare yourself each day to be a blessing to someone.

If God in part of our life, it should be our duty to be a blessing each day. Will you accept the challenge today?

I wonder how many of you saw the title of my blog post and thought, “I wonder how many unkind people Dot is going to name and shame?”.

Well I’m sorry to disappoint you, but far from naming and shaming some unkind people, I’d like to offer you these words:

Be kind to unkind people. They need it the most.

I often wonder why some people just seem to want to be unkind to others, and why some of them even seem to enjoy it! I don’t have the answers to these questions, but I believe that these people can change in to loving and caring individuals. I therefore believe that we need to help these folks as must as possible by being kind to them no matter how unkind they are to us or others.

Kindness

Yesterday in Happy People #1, I spoke about how we don’t need to have the best of everything to be happy. well today I’m going to contradict myself!

There is one thing in life in which it is imperative that we have the best in order that we can be truly happy – Any ideas?

God! If our life is without faith, without God, we will never be truly happy. When we give our lives to God, He promises to never leave us, therefore if we put our entire faith and trust in Him, He can help us be happy.

Happy people and those who have given their whole life to God just as this following song Everything by Tim Hughes says:

In the last couple of weeks I keep coming across references to the following quote:

God may not get us out of a situation, but He will give us the strength to get through it.

I don’t think it’s coincidence that I’ve been reminded of this quote on a regular basis recently, because, as many of you will know, there are a number of situations going on in my life just now which mean I’ve finding life quite difficult at present.

The one consolation I have is that I truly believe the above words…that God will give me the strength to get through it! Therefore, no matter how distant God may seem to you just now, don’t give up, because God is with you, and He will help you get through these difficult days.

The first to apologise is the bravest
The first to forgive is the strongest
And the first to forget is the happiest

Are you “the first”?

God can help you to become “the first”. Just ask Him because He can help you be brave, He can help you forgive, and He can also help you be happy.

What more could you ask for!
