Who in this world do you know that would universally love and accept everyone for who they are, whatever they are?

Are you struggling to think of someone?

Well 2000 years ago Jesus Christ came into our world as a baby, but He was no ordinary baby because He is the Son of God. As such, he came to spread God’s message of love, peace and understanding amongst all people in this world. i.e. He was a universal child.

Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
   Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
   Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus came and lived amongst us and then died an awful death, just for you and for me – Who else would ever do that for you and me?

This Christmas, and every day, we must each try to be more like Jesus, more universal. i.e. We must try to love everyone and help them whenever and however we can, regardless of who they are, the colour of their skin, their beliefs, their past etc.

Spread some universal love today and every day!

I love the new Annie Lennox song Universal Child and as it fit with my theme for today, I’d like to share it with you:
