Easter means different things to different people. For some it’s about Easter eggs and an excuse to eat lots of chocolate, for others it’s about holidays from school or work, and then for others it’s about Christ. Which of these best describes what Easter means to you?

For me, there’s a number of songs which best tell what Easter means to me, and over the last few years there has been one song which has had a very powerful impact on me, and which truly reflects what Easter means to me. That song is Written In Red performed here by The International Staff Songsters of the Salvation Army. Please follow the words in the  video, and remember the true means of Easter as you listen to this beautiful song:

I love you, I love you
That’s what Calvary said.
I love you, I love you,
I love you, written in red.

This is the greatest love story I’ve ever heard, how about you? Have you ever heard of anyone else who has loved every one of us so much that they were willing to die for us?

Jesus gave his all for me, and for that I will forever be grateful, and will forever be in His debt. That’s why, Easter has far more meaning and significance to me than any other time of the year. I am overwhelmed by the extent of God’s love for me, that He sent His son Jesus to die for me.

I used to wonder what can do to repay God for giving up his son for me? However I realised a while ago that the best I can do is give Him my heart, my life, my all.
