On the spot

How are you when you’re put on the spot? Do you love the thrill of the pressure and find answers come readily, or does your mind go completely blank and you find you can’t remember even the simplest of things?

For me it very much depends on the circumstances and what I’m being put on the spot about. I’ll give you a few examples:

  1. If it’s in relation to a project at work, I’m not too bad most of the time as I’m used to being asked lots of questions and where I hopefully know my subject matter well enough to either answer any questions directed at me, or can agree to find out after the meeting/discussion.
  2. If however I’m in a one person team in say a quiz or something similar, that’s when my mind decides it can remember nothing!
  3. However, if I’m in a team for a quiz, while I may still have my “I know nothing” moments about things I actually know, I do have some moments of clarity where I can remember some facts!

So what am I saying basically, is that when it comes to me on my own being asked questions, unless it’s work related, I’m probably not the best person to be put on the spot, particularly when it comes to quizzes.
