Do you ever feel spiritually drained?

Have you ever feel that the “spirit” has just been exhausted in your life?

We all feel this way from time to time; but an energetic Christian knows the cure!

Because of this, I am kneeling down before the father, the one who gives the name of ‘family’ to every family that there is, in heaven and on earth. My prayer is this: that he will lay out all the riches of his glory to give you strength and power, through his spirit, in your inner being; that the king may make his home in your hearts, through faith; that love may be your root, your firm foundation; and that you may be strong enough (with all God’s holy ones) to grasp the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the king’s love – though actually it’s so deep that nobody can really know it! So may God fill you with all his fullness.

~ Ephesians 3:14-19 (NTE)

It’s time to recharge your spiritual batteries today, before your they run our completely!

So start today by reconnecting with the people you love. We all need a friend, a confidant, a sounding board, a counsellor, so reconnect with yours today, because they will help you recharge your batteries.

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself, and know that everything in life has purpose. There are no mistakes, no coincidences, all events are blessings given to us to learn from.

Take a few moments today to just stop and think about yourself, and what your life is all about…why are you here…what is your life’s purpose?

Everything in life happens for a reasons, and even the things which we wish didn’t happen, happen so that we can learn from them. So maybe everything that happens to us, good or bad, are actually blessings in disguise.

When we’re asked a question, we can often give elaborate answers which really tell the questioner nothing. So for the following questions I’m looking for single word answers only :

  1. Who do you wish you were with, right now?
  2. If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would you want to meet?
  3. Has your heart ever been broken?
  4. Have you ever felt you couldn’t go on?
  5. Have you read the bible today?

Whatever your answers, did you answer honestly or did you give the answers you think you should be giving?

If you didn’t answer honestly, can I suggest you try again, but this time be honest with yourself, because if you are, you might get an insight into the ares of your life you need to change.

Help my unbelief

Even once we give our hearts and lives to God, that won’t stop us having doubts about God. However if we pray and ask God to help rid us of our unbelief, He will give us the strength and knowledge to always believe in Him.

I do believe!

How about you, did you have that eureka moment in your life when you suddenly realised that you do believe in God? Or have you always known God was there and so have believed in Him for as long as you remember?

However, and whenever you told God you truly believed in Him, doesn’t really matter, as ultimately the fact that you do believe is all God asked of you.

In the UK, today is Mother’s Day, so for many today is day to say thank you to our Mum’s for all they have done/do for us, and just generally spoil them for at least today!

For those of us whose mother’s have passed away, the lead up to Mother’s Day with all the adverts on TV can be difficult, nevermind Mother’s Day itself when all around there are people celebrating with their Mums. It can also be a difficult day for those who have wanted children but who for whatever result, have been unable to have children.

A couple of months ago we went to the Liv On concert with Amy Sky, Beth Nielsen Chapman, and Olivia Newton-John. Here’s some of what their website tells us about this project:

The LIV ON Project and CD came to fruition the way many of the best collaborations do…via a series of conversations between friends about what matters most in life: Love, loss, hope and healing.

All three had endured profound, life-altering losses and yet each remained committed to one thing: a desire to transform individual grief into healing via music… for all.

As well, the three mega-stars have created several brand new songs, including the title track, “Live On,” which born of their own exploration into the pain of loss, the growth that follows and eventually, the journey toward renewed joy.

I found the words and the music of all the songs presented at the concert very inspiring, so I just wanted to share with you today the title track from the Liv On CD, entitled Live On:

I’ve done a few Word Associations and Places Associations with you, and several other UK specific Places Association which, as the title suggests, is all about places in the UK. i.e. cities, countries, towns etc.

So instead of throwing words at you and responding with the first word that comes into your mind, today I’m going to throw names of places in the UK at you, and this time I want you to respond with whatever comes into your mind first about that place.

Were any of your answers the same as mine? Did you understand all my answers? Did any of your own answers surprise you?

I’ve said in previous word association posts that I find I get a bit stressed when I’m doing them as I put a lot of pressure on myself not to over think my answers! Are you relaxed when you do them or do you find it stressful too?

I still believe that when we respond to any of these words or place association games, with the first things that come into our minds, our answers tell us a lot about our emotional state and our true feelings about a place.

Bearing all this in mind, review your answers, does my theory hold true?

Sometimes it’s when we are feeling spiritually exhausted, that we are most in need of being reminded that:

  • God strengthens us.
  • God establishes us in love.
  • God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ever ask or think.

Inner peace (or peace of mind) refers to a deliberate state of psychological or spiritual calm despite the potential presence of stressors.

‘Spiritual calm’…I wonder how we can achieve that?

Only when we give ourselves fully to God can we find inner peace and spiritual calm. God can provide all we need for every situation, so trust Him to give you peace.
