How many times have you felt like this?

Yes, I’ve certainly felt like that! Why is it that although some of the tabs are frozen, the music always keeps playing! lol

While this is an amusing image that probably made you smile, it does have a serious side to it – If you have 19 tabs open in our browser have you considered that you may be trying to do too much at the one time?

Maybe you’ve got loads to do and are trying to do a bit of everything, or maybe you’re procrastinating by doing something other than what you should be. Either way, if you have 19 tabs open in our browser have you considered that you may be trying to do too much at the one time, so it’s time to close them all and start focusing on one thing.

“Something that only your faith in God will get you through”

A couple of questions for you:

  • Have you ever felt like you’re facing something you will no be able to get through?
  • Do you feel your faith in God is strong enough to get you through everything you face?

Even if you answered No to my second question it doesn’t mean you will not get through whatever you’re facing, because God will always be there with you, guiding you. At the time you may be unaware of God’s hand in what is going on around you, but be assured, He is always with you and will be there for you whenever you need Him.

When you need to get through tough times, trust God, as He will be your strength and your guide.

How many times has someone said to you, “Take it from me…”, and then proceeded to give you their opinion on why you should  do something, or believe in something?

When it comes to our belief in God, telling someone to “Take it from me…”, that God loves them, is not really a good enough reason for someone to suddenly believe in God. So how do we convince them? We convince them by how we treat ourselves and others, both in our words and our actions.

When we believe in God, and live our lives for Him, others with see something different in us, something better, and hopefully something they want.

I how that the way I live my lives shows others that they should just “Take it from me” that they should believe in God, but they see God in me.

Do you have a place where you can freely let go of all your problems, all our concerns, and give them all to God?

I hope that if you attend a place of worship, that that place is somewhere you feel safe and free to either privately or publicly pray to God and ask Him to take all your problems and concerns and help you through a tough time.

When we lay all our problems at the foot of the cross, God takes those burdens from us, and will then give us the strength to face each difficulty – We simply need to trust God to give us that strength.

You are love
Here in this place of worship
You draw me close again
All of my weakness is laid here
You cover them all in your strength

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” ~ Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

Yes, life can be tough, but God never ever say life would be easy ever if we give Him our all. That is why He promised to help us get through every situation we encounter, because with Him, all things are most definitely possible.

I’ve done a few Word Associations with you over the last while, and today it’s time for another one. So as usual I’m going to throw some words at you, and I want you to note down the first word that comes into your mind when you read each word.

So here goes…

  1. Shampoo
  2. Window
  3. Frame
  4. Orchid
  5. Box
  6. Bedroom
  7. Surprise
  8. House
  9. Pastel
  10. Biscuit

wordsSo how did you get on with those words? Did you find it easy? Did your answers surprise you or were they just as you expected?

Well here’s my responses to my questions:

  1. Conditioner
  2. Blind
  3. Murder
  4. Pink
  5. Full
  6. Clear-out
  7. Birthday
  8. Sale
  9. Chalk
  10. Coffee

I still believe that when we respond with the first words that come into our minds, our answers tell us a lot about our emotional state, and what’s important to us at that particular point in time.

Bearing all this in mind, review your answers, does my theory hold true?

By the way, if you want me to explain any of my answers, just ask!

There are things we used to be able to say and do in our daily life, which if we did them now, would break the rules. For example:

  • Words that are considered no longer appropriate to describe someone.
  • Actions that once were an everyday occurrence are now seen as insulting.
  • Wearing items of jewellery such as a cross are now deemed in many places to show bias and incite hatred.
  • Many schools ban any talk about Jesus or God when previously that’s where so many were taught about God’s love for them.

How can it be wrong to speak God’s name anywhere, particularly in our schools? If we don’t teach children who God is and how much he loves them, they will potentially grow up never having heard about God, and I believe that is definitely wrong.

When did it become breaking a rule
To say your name out loud in school
When your names the only one that sets us free
When did it become incorrect
To speak the truth about life and death
When your life gave us all eternity

Jesus gave His life for us, so we could live as we do today. We must repay Him by breaking the rules, and telling the world about Jesus!

Daddy’s Girl
My old man
I’m a chip off the old block
My old man
Is still living here
Not in flesh and bone, he’s never far from home
I’m forever walkin’ in my daddy’s shoes
I’ve got his misery, I got good company
Guess I’ll always be
My daddy’s girl
My momma sang
Call it inspiration
And she’s comin’ on through me
I can feel her now
Though she walks on the other side
To me she’s still quite alive
I’m forever rockin’ in my mommas arms
Mom had a broken heart
From a world just too damn hard
Mine breaks often cause I’m a momma’s girl
You spend a lifetime saying this is who I am
Then you find yourself saying something
You don’t understand, you look in the mirror
There you are
Your daddy’s girl
I came across these lyrics a few weeks ago, and they brought tears to my eyes. Not because they upset me, but because they reminded me of all the times Mum used to tell me and others how much of a Daddy’s girl I was.
These words have been on my mind even the last few days, as today marks six years since my Dad passed away. Neither Mum or Dad are here any more, but it doesn’t stop me thinking about them every day because I love and miss them so very much.
Although Mum and Dad have both gone, I hope their legacy lives on through me. I simply hope I make them proud.

Did you listen to the lyrics of this song by Newsboys?

If you were put on trial, would you be found guilty of being a voice proclaiming God’s ways, His truth and His life?

I try each day to live my life so that I would be found guilty.

Stay on track

If you’re questioned about your faith, do you backdown on what you believe, or do you continue professing your belief in God?

It can be hard these days to stand firm, and speak about our faith, especially with those who hold a different view from us. However we must keep believing God will give us the right words to say to speak out for Him.

So stay on track, and don’t let what others say or think about you or God, stop you from standing up for God.

Stand Up by Graham Kendrick

Stand up, come on,
Stand your ground
Stand up, come on,
Don’t back down
Rise up, come on,
Side by side
Wake up, come on,
Don’t stand by
For our God is strong to save
Why should we be afraid?

Stand up and fight
For your sisters
Fight for your brothers
Fight for your homes
Your sons and your daughters
Stand up, come on
Let’s take some ground

Speak up, come on make some noise
Cry out, where they have no voice
For justice come on fight to win
For mercy come on muscle in
For our God is strong to save
Why should we be afraid?

Stand up and fight
For your sisters
Fight for your brothers
Fight for your homes
Your sons and your daughters
Stand up, come on
Stand up and fight
For the orphans
Fight for the widows
Fight for the truth
To shine in the shadows
Stand up, come on
Let’s take some ground

Hands up, come on holy hands
Join up, praying ‘cross the land
Lift up, honour Jesus’ name
Look up never be ashamed
For our God is strong to save
Why should we be afraid?
