If you’re going through a tough time, and someone asks you if you’re really ok, so you say you’re ok, or do you tell them the truth?

I guess it depends on your relationships with the person who’s asking doesn’t it? Even if the person asking is someone you know well, and trust, that still doesn’t mean you are definitely going to tell someone how you really feel, does it?

Maybe it’s because when we’re going through tough times, it can take us every bit of strength we have, to keep it together and not completely fall apart.

Even when we can’t tell those closest to us just how much we’re struggling or finding life difficult, we can still take it all to God. God is always will us, so no matter what we are facing or going through, we must trust God. Because when we trust God, we can be assured that all will be well.

Far be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can’t see
And this mountain that’s in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the sea

Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well

More than ever this world needs to know God.

Men and women, boys and girls, never knowing unconditional love, never feeling their future is secure.

Messages of turmoil, disasters, hatred fill our news and social media streams.

More than ever this world needs to know God.

Millions have turned from God thinking He doesn’t exist or doesn’t care for them.

Millions are wrong, God is always there for them, they just need to have faith to believe in God.

My prayer is that those of us who believe in God, do all we can to show those we come into contact with, that we are different, and live our lives differently, because we believe in God.

May we then be examples of Christ’s love to others, showing love and compassion to everyone.

I did, at one point in my life, wonder if there really was any reason to carry on living. There seemed to be one problem or issue after another in every aspect of my life, that I just could see how I would ever get through that time.

Having got through that very difficult time, I realised that those days when I should have let God take full control of my life, were the days when I completely ignored God, because it seemed to me as if he had forgotten me. I really should have known better, after all I’d heard so many time before how God is always with us and has a plan for each of us. I forgot God’s timing wasn’t necessarily my desired timing, and so instead of trusting God, I turned away from him.

My faith is now stronger than ever as I know now I only got through those difficult days because God did not desert me. I also am now confident that God really does have a plan for me, and therefore I want to fulfil his plan for my life – I therefore have a reason to live because I believe in God.

So believe in God because He alone gives us a reason to live!

We can all be critics sometimes can’t we? We’re all have opinions about what is good or bad, right or wrong for someone to do or say in specific situations or circumstances.

When it comes to our own lives, our thoughts and actions, are we as critical of ourselves as we are of others? I guess that depends on the type of person we are – I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m a perfectionist, and so I admit it, I am my own worst critic. I expect myself to do and say everything to the high standards I expect of myself, however in reality my expectations of myself are usually far too high, and so I end up giving myself a hard time because in my eyes I have failed.

Why am I my worst critic? I know I set my expectations of myself way to high – That in itself is fine as it’s great to aim high, however I know I shouldn’t give myself such a hard time when I don’t live up to my own expectations.

If I don’t live up to my own expectations of myself, how can I ever live up to God’s expectations! The difference is God is realistic about what I can do and will only expect we to do what He knows I’m capable of with His help.

If like me you’re you own worst critic, give yourself some slack, you’re human, you’re not perfect. However if we put our faith and trust in God, He can help us become more like Him, and in doing so we will become better people.

In many sports it’s clear that a team or player deliberately target what they feel are their opponent’s vulnerabilities or weaknesses. It’s clear why they do that, as in sport it all about the win isn’t it?

Vulnerabilities don’t just exist when a sport is being played, they exist in our every aspect of our lives. None of us are perfect, we all have weakness, and that is why in our lives we often find ourselves being targeted by the devil. The devil sees when we are weak and puts doubts and obstacles in our way so that we question God’s plans for us. He’s great at targeting our weaknesses, but we can overcome the devil’s attack on us by putting our faith firmly in God, and letting Him take away all our burdens and strengthen our weaknesses. God will help us become better and stronger people by helping us learn from our weaknesses and become stronger in our faith.

Questions and uncertainty

It can sometimes feel like we’re inundated with questions and uncertainty day after day. So in these circumstances where do you turn? Who do you turn to?

If your questions are about a specific subject or topic, I’m sure there are experts around who can assist. For example if you have a problem with your laptop or mobile phone, there are many shops and companies around who have technical experts who can help solve your technology issue.

If you questions are about life’s problems, maybe you turns to your parents or other family or friends.

If you feel your future is uncertain and you’re struggling to know how to see a positive outcome, who better to turn to than God. In fact, whether you have questions about life in general, problems with life, or feel life is getting on top of you, God is the the one to turn to. He alone can give you direction and guidance which always has your best interests at heart.

There’s no need to stress about your future, instead take all your questions or concerns to God, and He will answer your questions and guide you into the best future for you.

Matthew 6:25 (The Passion Translation)

This is why I tell you to never be worried about your life, for all that you need will be provided, such as food, water, clothing—everything your body needs. Isn’t there more to your life than a meal? Isn’t your body more than clothing?

What do you focus on in your life? Is your life centred around possessions and goods, or is there more to your life than that?

There is definitely more to life than our possessions – possessions may provide short term happiness, but they don’t provide the peace and contentment that I’m sure we all desire.

The peace and contentment we all desire can only be found in God. God is more than everything we need. He offers us really peace, contentment and happiness, if we simply trust Him.

When you’re in the middle of difficult times, it can seem like there is no end, that you’re troubles will last forever.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (The Passion Translation)

We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison, because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.

Always remember that, although it may not feel like it, our troubles are only temporary. It is important we always remember that. It’s even more important though that we remember to continue to trust God during times of difficulty.

Pray to God, give him all your worries, all your fears, focus on Him, and He will look after us forever.

Sometimes our lives be turned upside down by events or circumstances. That’s when we often question our future, and question whether God is still there.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

The good news is, as long as we don’t try and do everything our own, but instead trust God, He will guide and direct us. In other words, our future will be sorted out by God.

Sometimes life can seem hopeless.

Sometimes your situation, or the situation of someone you love can seem hopeless.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was someone who you knew would always come and rescue you, no matter the time of day or night?

God is our rescuer – He’s always there for us, even in the darkest night. Even when there seems no hope for you, God is there and will rescue you.

Life is never hopeless when we put our faith and trust in God.

Rescue by Lauren Daigle

You are not hidden
There’s never been a moment
You were forgotten
You are not hopeless
Though you have been broken
Your innocence stolen

I hear you whisper underneath your breath
I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army
To find you in the middle of darkest night
It’s true
I will rescue you

There is no distance
That cannot be covered
Over and over
You’re not defenseless
I’ll be your shelter
I’ll be your armor

I hear you whisper underneath your breath
I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army
To find you in the middle of darkest night
It’s true
I will rescue you
I will never stop marching
To reach you in the middle of the hardest fight
It’s true
I will rescue you

I hear the whisper underneath your breath
I hear you whisper you have nothing left
