Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you ~ 1 Peter 5 (TPT)

This verse from 1 Peter reminds us that no matter what situation we find ourselves in, God cares for us.

It’s all well and good telling someone that God cares for them, but would those words alone make someone believe God cares for them? I suspect not. However that doesn’t stop God caring for everyone.

Maybe when we’re going through those tough times, we don’t recognise God’s presence with us, but I’m sure that later, when we look back on that time, we’ll realise God was there for us, and got us through those tough days.

So don’t try and cope with all your worries and concerns on your own, take them to God and let Him take them from you.

I want to look at another verse from scripture today that relates to the ‘faith of a child’.

In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word. For this “milk” will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life ~ 1 Peter 2 (TPT)

Babies need nourish of milk from their mothers to flourish and grow physically. So comparing how we grow spiritually, to how babies need nourishment is such a great way to remind us that just as a baby must receive nourishment to grow, so we must receive spiritual nourishment so our faith will grow.

Also what better time to learn about God than when we are young children. When we learn young, these life lessons and directions are more likely to stay with us throughout our life, so again we need to have the ‘faith of a child’.

We live in a world where crime, intolerance and hatred seem to be all we hear about on the news. So we need some good news. The good news is that if we can tell the world about Jesus, we can once again live in a world where man loves his fellow-man.

Now, this is the goal: to live in harmony with one another and demonstrate affectionate love, sympathy, and kindness toward other believers. Let humility describe who you are as you dearly love one another. ~ 1 Peter 3:8 (The Passion Translation)

So let this be our goal, to share love, sympathy, and kindness, not just to other believers, but also to non-believers.

Anxiety and worry are a toxic combination which in turn can make you feel more anxious and then worry more. Worries and concerns are something that God has told us He will take care of for us, so give them all to God, and He will give you peace.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.  Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:6-8)
