You may have realised by now if you’ve been following my blog for any amount of time, that I love music and I have a lot of favourite songs. I make no apology for sharing so many of my favourite songs with you because I feel that if they can touch my heart, they are just as likely to touch your heart too…and when Christ is involved you never know what that may lead to!

Yesterday in Only Christ I shared with you another of my favourite song, In Christ Alone. There are some specific words from this song that touch me whenever I hear or sing this them…

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

and my favourite words of all…

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

This is one of my favourite songs because it reminds me always that everything I have and everything I am is all because of Christ, and Christ alone.

Is your trust firmly in Christ, and Christ alone?

DebtSadly we live in an age where debt and need seem to be prevalent, and if anything the situation seems to be getting worse as more and more people in our communities are struggling to stay on top of their money problem.

So financially many in our communities are struggling, but what about their spiritual well-being?

Sadly I personally think that is just as bad a situation as their finances, as so many churches are finding fewer and fewer people attending, resulting in many churches being forced to either amalgamate with other churches, or close completely.

I don’t have any magic solutions on how to help those struggling financially, however as far as the spiritual well-being of those around us we can all do something to help them…

Tell them about God, and how He loves them and can help them in every situation life throws their way.

So go on, help this world in debt by telling those around you about God, because He will make a huge difference in everyone’s life.

Everything we are, everything we believe and everything we become, all starts with a thought. Joyce Meyer said:

Your thoughts become your words; your thoughts become your actions. Your thoughts become your life.

While for many of us it is reassuring to know that what we think ultimately moulds who we are, it can be less reassuring when we think about those who don’t believe in Christ as what of their thoughts? What do they mould that person into? I just pray today that as each day many thoughts go through my mind, they are ones which have been founded in my love for Christ, and therefore help to lead a life more like Christ.
