We all like to be in control don’t we? However I’m just as sure that we’re all guilty of wanting and trying to be in control of things which really we have no chance of achieving.

Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t. ~ Steve Maraboli

We can be so much more effective if we choose to take control of the things we have some power over, so choose carefully what you take control of, otherwise you will be disappointed when you fail.

take control

Did you get God’s message there?

I guess we’re all guilty at times of worrying about things we either have no control over, or things which, if in the grand scheme of life, are not really very important. That said, we’re only human and therefore we do worry and get stressed about things.

Maybe we just need a very visual reminder from God sometimes, that we don’t have to worry about anything, because God really is in control of our lives.

No matter what you might be facing right now or what comes up in the future, remember two things: God is with you—and He’s in control. ~ Joyce Meyer

Life can really be tough at times, and it can feel as if no-one cares about us. However it’s then we must remind ourselves that someone does care about us…God cares about us, and is always here with us, and He’s calling us to trust in Him.

Have you put your full trust in God?

Dreams

On Saturday and Sunday I talked about dreaming and who/what we dream about while we are sleeping, but today I’d like to focus on our hopes and desires for the future…our dreams for the future.

When we’re young we are encouraged to think about our future and where we want to be in 5, 10 or 20 years times, and what we want to be doing. But do our hopes and dreams for the future mean anything? Well that depends, sometimes we can have very unrealistic dreams when we’re young because we don’t really understand life, while on other ocassions we hear of those who have know what they want to do from a very young age. I think a lot of it comes down to the individual, their surroundings and their support, but that doesn’t mean people who don’t have all these things never fullfill their dreams, as many of them do.

Then there’s those who have no idea what they want from their life, what they want to be or where they want to be. I’d heard of some who fall into this category who found their “dreams” being made up for them by parents/teachers who thought they knew that person well enough to determine their dreams for them…but that never works – they people often end up living a life they don’t want, doing a job they never wanted with no prospect of change.

So where am I going with all this? Well, I’ve mentioned many times before that God plans our life out for us before we’re even born, so isn’t the best way to discover your dreams to ask God?

That doesn’t mean you will never fullfill your dreams, because if you’ve been doing as God desires of you, you’ll find His dreams for you are them same as yours!

Let God take control of your dreams.
