lifeguard

Do you know who your lifeguard is?

In Matthew 14:25 – 29 (NIV) we find the answer to this question:

Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

“Come,” he said.

drowning in life

Life can get on top of us sometimes, however, as I said in Friday’s blog post Under Pressure, if we’re not fully reliant on God that’s when the pressures of life can get the better of us, and we can feel like we’re drowning.

The good news is though, no matter how long we’ve been “drowning” in life, God can still rescue us – All we have to do is reach out to Him and believe!
