It’s time

Sometimes there are things that you just know it’s time you need to do them.

How about your faith? Is it time to remind yourself that God can provided everything you need, when you need it?

If your faith has faltered or you’ve found yourself relying on your own strength rather than trusting God, it’s time to rekindle your faith. God is ready and waiting for you to let Him take control of your life again.

It is time to want more of God and less of ourselves.
It is time to have faith that we can’t contain.
It is time to let faith and the Giver of faith control our lives.

Because God has answers to all of our questions.
Because Jesus have the words of eternal life.
Because the Holy Spirit empowers us for abundant living.

Gracious God,
You are everything we need.
Be praised forever and ever.
You are holy.
Be praised forever and ever.
You bless us richly.
Be praised forever and ever.
You love us dearly.
Be praised forever and ever.
Set a fire deep in our soul.
Be praised forever and ever.
We want more of you.
Be praised forever and ever.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

The most meaningful presents we receive might not come wrapped in shiny paper or frilly ribbons. They are often the ones that lift your spirit, brighten your day or trigger your imagination.

I’ve been curious what others consider to be their ‘best gift’ so have been looking at other people’s stories about their ‘best gifts’, so here’s one I want to share with you.

Sometimes a gift may be a just what we always wanted.

Sometimes that always wanted gift will be the only always wanted gift you’ll ever receive, so cherish it and keep that memory special.

I’ve done a few Word Associations with you over the last while, and today it’s time for another one. So as usual I’m going to throw some words at you, and I want you to note down the first word that comes into your mind when you read each word.

So here goes…

  1. Breakfast
  2. Relationship
  3. Plant
  4. Box
  5. Slipper
  6. Box
  7. Vinyl
  8. Teapot
  9. Condemn
  10. Graphitewords

So how did you get on with those words? Did you find it easy? Did your answers surprise you or were they just as you expected?

Well here’s my responses to my questions:

  1. Cereal
  2. Friend
  3. Seed
  4. Delivery
  5. Winter
  6. Tick tock
  7. 78
  8. Yorkshire
  9. Fire
  10. Racket

I still believe that when we respond with the first words that come into our minds, our answers tell us a lot about our emotional state, and what’s important to us at that particular point in time.

Bearing all this in mind, review your answers, does my theory hold true?

By the way, if you want me to explain any of my answers, just ask!

It’s the end of another week, and the beginning of the weekend.

It’s the end of the week, but is it also the opportunity to make a new beginning. A new beginning in our personal life, a new start with broken relationships, a new start in our relationship with God…

Starting afresh gives us the chance to rekindle the light of God in our lives, so that we can spread His light throughout the world.

I’ve done a few Word Associations with you over the last while, and today it’s time for another one. So as usual I’m going to throw some words at you  and I want you to note down the first word that comes into your mind when you read each word.

So here goes…

  1. Speaker
  2. Cable
  3. wordsGalaxy
  4. Fire
  5. Office
  6. Log
  7. Alarm
  8. Land
  9. Short
  10. Watch

So how did you get on with those words? Did you find it easy? Did your answers surprise you or were they just as you expected?

Well here’s my responses to my questions:

  1. Load
  2. Power
  3. Chocolate
  4. Heat
  5. Law
  6. Record
  7. Warning
  8. Sea
  9. Small
  10. Stare

I still believe that when we respond with the first words that come into our minds, our answers tell us a lot about our emotional state, and what’s important to us at that particular point in time.

Bearing all this in mind, review your answers, does my theory hold true?

By the way, if you want me to explain any of my answers, just ask!

rekindle-the-fire

When you think you are no longer sure if God is still watching over you, stop, pray the above prayer, and be reassured that God is always with you.

Let God rekindle the fire within you, so you will once again radiate His love from you.

Reignite

We can all get tired and fed up with thing sometimes, and that can include our Christian life as well – After all we’re only human!

So sometimes, we just need to ask God to help reignite our desire to serve and praise Him. So don’t let your Christian values die when you go through a difficult time, instead ask God to give you extra desire during these times, to stick it out and remind us of His love for us.

Don’t let our love grow cold
‘Cause I’m calling out
Light the fire again
Don’t let our vision die
I’m calling out
Light the fire again

You know my heart, my deeds
I’m calling out
Light the fire again
I need your discipline
I’m calling out

Light the fire again

I am here to buy gold
Refined in the fire, naked and poor
Wretched and blind I come
Clothe me in white
So I won’t be ashamed
Lord, light the fire again

Yesterday in A New Spiritual Start I asked you at the start of this new year, to consider refocusing your spiritual life. But how do we go about refocusing our life on God?

Refiner’s Fire

Purify my heart
Let me be as gold and precious silver
Purify my heart
Let me be as gold, pure gold
Refiner’s fire
My heart’s one desire
Is to be holy
Set apart for You, Lord
I choose to be holy
Set apart for You, my Master
Ready to do Your will
Purify my heart
Cleanse me from within
And make me holy
Purify my heart
Cleanse me from my sin
Deep within

Well first and foremost, as the words of the above song suggest, we must choose to be holy and in choosing to be holy we must be willing to set ourselves apart for God.

Secondly we must give our all to God, so that He can cleanse me from within and make me holy. We can’t truly dedicate ourselves to God if we keep part of ourselves from Him.

Philippians 3:15-16 (The Message)

So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.

So what now? Pray!

The main way to ask God into your life is to get down on your knees and pray to God, a prayer from deep in your heart. A prayer of sincerity, a prayer of compassion, commitment and dedication to Him.

God will hear your pray, and He will purify your heart.

More Than This

What a powerful song, one that touches me whenever I listen to it. I hope you felt the passion of the song and that the words touched you too

If you haven’t yet fully accepted God into your life, it’s not too late, it’s never too late.

Are you wondering where your life is going? Accepting God into your life will give your life direction again. God will help keep you on His path and you’ll never get lost again

No matter what your current circumstances, or what you might be struggling with, God can help when you let Him into your life. Let God’s love consume you today.

Consuming Fire (Tim Hughes)

There must be more than this
oh breath of God come breath within
There must be more than this
Spirit of God we wait for you
Fill us anew we pray
Fill us anew we pray

Consuming Fire
Fan into flame
a passion for your name
Spirit of God fall in this place
Lord have ur way
Lord have ur way with us

Come like a rushing wind
Fill us with power from on high
Now set the captives free
leave us abandoned to your praise
Lord let your glory fall
Lord let your glory fall

Consuming Fire
Fan into flame
a passion for your name
Spirit of God fall in this place
Lord have ur way
Lord have ur way with us

Firemen!

Today at work, I had to attend a meeting at Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Headquarters! As soon as the other females in my office found out I’d been asked to go to a meeting with firemen, they suddenly all wanted to come to the meeting too…I can’t think why! 🙂

The meeting was all about promoting fire safety visits for households in the North Lanarkshire and highlighting to to residential the profile of those most at risk. These are obviously a very important issues which will hopefully help save lives.

Do you know what responsibilities the fire and rescue service provide?

Some of the responsibilities of Strathclyde Fire & Rescue are fire prevention, fire safety and education, fire investigation, road safety, water rescue and of course…fire fighting!

So many lives are torn apart by fire or road traffic accidents, we must support all those who put their live on the line on a daily basis to help those of us in trouble. Please pray for our fire service, they do an excellent job often in very difficult and distressing circumstances.

Please pray today for all who work for our Fire & Rescue service.

Please also pray for those whose life has been affected in some way by fire or a road accident.

Psalm 69:29
I am in pain and distress; may your salvation, O God, protect me.
