1 Timothy 4:14-16

Be sure to use the abilities God has given you…keep a close watch on all you do and think. Stay true to what is right and God will bless you and use you to help others.

In these last few weeks I’ve found I’ve had to remind myself a lot of the gifts God has blessed me with, as I’ve found myself going off and doing things without God’s approval or direction. Funnily enough, I made a mess of them! Thinking about it now I realize this was God’s way of reminding me that I should use the gifts He has blessed me with for Him, and not for myself.

I’ve learned my lesson, and pray God will continue to use me to help those He wants me to help. I hope you too will always trust God to use you the way He desires.

Zero-toleranceYesterday in Zero Tolerance #1 of 2 I spoke about how many zero tolerance posters I’ve noticed in different places over the last few weeks. This in turn got me thinking about what these zero tolerance posters usually relate to. i.e. racism, verbal or physical abuse, sexism, bullying or harassment, alcohol abuse, drug abuse.

This in turn got me wondering about whether we should have a zero tolerance poster to indicate that Christ has a zero tolerance policy towards sin. I know this is slightly different from the zero tolerance posters we’ve all seen in that we cannot be prosecuted for disobeying the directives on the poster…or can we?

1 Timothy 15-17 (NLT)

This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.  But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. All honour and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.

If we believe in Christ and repent, by giving our whole life to God, we will be rewarded with the gift of eternal life with God. What greater promise is there than that?

Let’s make sure there is zero tolerance for sin in our lives, and those we come into contact with.

Glory To The King by Darlene Zschech

You’re the comforter to the lonely
The lifter of my head
I see You veiled in majesty
We cry glory, glory
We cry glory to the King

Lord,my heart cries out
Glory to the King
My greatest love in life
I hand You everything
Glory,glory
I hear the angels sing.

Open my ears
Let me hear Your voice
To know that sweet sound
Oh my soul rejoice
Glory,glory
I hear the angels sing

You’re the Father to the fatherless
The answer to my dreams
I see you crowned in righteousness
We cry glory to the King
Comforter to the lonely
The lifter of my head
I see You veiled in majesty
We cry glory,glory
We cry glory to the King

We cry glory glory
We cry glory to the King

God is there in the depth of our despair and in the heights of our joy – Who else is there like that?

God is there for the lonely and gives them comfort – Who else is there like that?

God loves us unconditionally – Who else is there like that?

So how should we repay Him? We should give Him glory…Glory to the King!

1 Timothy 1:17 (NIV)

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
