From the highest throne
To the earth below
You laid down Your life
For the likes of us
Great is the love of the Saviour

From the wounded heart
To a life made whole
Every human heart
Will declare as one
Great is the love of the Saviour

Lord of endless light
Let Your glory shine forever
All the earth All the earth
Sing Your Praise

Hope of every heart
Let Your name be lifted higher
All our hearts
All our hearts
Sing Your Praise

From the mountain heights
To the valleys low
All created things
Given life to show
Jesus we live for Your glory

From the rising sun
To the still of night
Every waking moment
For Your delight
Jesus we live for Your glory

God be exalted
God be exalted
In everything
We live for Your glory
Live for Your glory

Are you living in the light of God’s love?

God is everywhere, and is with everyone. Have you seen the light and accepted HIm into your life?

Give Jesus all the glory as He illuminates the world with His light and love.

Everything we do should not be done for our own happiness or indeed our own glory, it should all be done to extend God’s kingdom.

It’s all about Jesus!

It’s all about You, Jesus
And all this is for You
For Your glory and your fame
It’s not about me
As if You should do things my way
You alone are God
And I surrender to your ways

Jesus, lover of my soul
All consuming fire is in Your gaze
Jesus, I want you to know
I will follow you all my days
For no one else in history is like you
And history itself belongs to you
Alpha and Omega, You have loved me
And I will share eternity with You

God, we will give you Glory
For God you can answer prayer

This last weekend I was privileged to hear the ISS (The International Staff Songsters of the Salvation Army) on the Saturday night and Sunday afternoon during their visit to Rutherglen Salvation Army as part of their 125th anniversary celebrations.

It was a fabulous weekend, and I’m sure those who attended, were blessing and challenged by the words and music the ISS brought to us. That said, it was a bit strange for me being back at Rutherglen playing inn the band again, as I transferred to Bellshill Salvation Army 12 years ago, having been at Rutherglen all my life until then. It was strange simply because it felt as though I’d never been away!

It was definitely a weekend where God was praised and we were also reminded that God can, and will answer prayer, so one of the final songs the ISS sang, God, We Will Give You Glory, summed up the weekend for me:

‘There are many rooms in my Father’s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you…..When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am'” ~ John 14:2-4

I can be difficult to cope when our loved ones pass away, however I believe that they pass away when God is ready for them to take their place with Him. Life is about living for Him, doing things He needs us to do in His time, and therefore it should be no great surprise that even death takes place in His time.

Shed a tear when your loved ones leave this world, that’s only natural, but be assured that God has prepared a place for them, with Him.

Glory To The King by Darlene Zschech

You’re the comforter to the lonely
The lifter of my head
I see You veiled in majesty
We cry glory, glory
We cry glory to the King

Lord,my heart cries out
Glory to the King
My greatest love in life
I hand You everything
Glory,glory
I hear the angels sing.

Open my ears
Let me hear Your voice
To know that sweet sound
Oh my soul rejoice
Glory,glory
I hear the angels sing

You’re the Father to the fatherless
The answer to my dreams
I see you crowned in righteousness
We cry glory to the King
Comforter to the lonely
The lifter of my head
I see You veiled in majesty
We cry glory,glory
We cry glory to the King

We cry glory glory
We cry glory to the King

God is there in the depth of our despair and in the heights of our joy – Who else is there like that?

God is there for the lonely and gives them comfort – Who else is there like that?

God loves us unconditionally – Who else is there like that?

So how should we repay Him? We should give Him glory…Glory to the King!

1 Timothy 1:17 (NIV)

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Give God all the praise!

Is God worthy of our praise? Is He worth of all our glory?

Yes and yes!

We can never repay God for all He does for us each and every day. Have you ever even stopped each day to consider all the blessings He has given you during the day – I know I don’t do this nearly as often as I should. But we really should think more about all God does for us. How can we ever hope to repay Him for all He does for us if we don’t even acknowledge all He does for us.

God is amazing. God is more than worthy of our praise!

Give You Glory by Jeremy Camp

We have raised a thousand voices
Just to lift Your holy name
And we will raise thousands more
To sing of Your beauty in this place
Well none can even fathom
No not one define Your worth
As we marvel in Your presence
To the ends of the earth.

We give You glory,
Lifting up our hands and singing holy,
You alone are worthy
We just want to touch Your heart, Lord, touch Your heart
Glory, lifting up our voice and singing holy,
You alone are worthy
We just want to touch Your heart, Lord, touch Your heart

As we fall down before You
With our willing hearts we seek
In the greatness of Your glory
It’s so hard to even speak
There is nothing we can offer
No nothing can repay
So we give You all our praises
And lift our voice to sing

We give You glory,
Lifting up our hands and singing holy,
You alone are worthy
We just want to touch Your heart, Lord, touch Your heart
Glory, lifting up our voice and singing holy,
You alone are worthy
We just want to touch Your heart, Lord, touch Your heart

Our hope is drenched in You
Our faith has been renewed
We trust in Your every word
Nothing else can even measure up to You.

We give You glory,
Lifting up our hands and singing holy,
You alone are worthy
We just want to touch Your heart, Lord, touch Your heart
Glory, lifting up our voice and singing holy,
You alone are worthy
We just want to touch Your heart, Lord, touch Your heart

All Glory by Tim Hughes

How great is your love, it never gives up on me
Stronger than shame, carries me back to you
Jesus my redeemer,
You have made a way

All glory to God who is able
All power and praise
Forever the earth will proclaim
You are mighty, you are mighty

So great is your love, keeps all its promises
Unshakeable, eternity rests in your hands
Jesus I surrender, lead me in your ways

All glory to God who is able
All power and praise
Forever the earth will proclaim
You are mighty, you are mighty

Lift him higher, he is mighty
Lift him higher, he is God
Lift him higher, he is mighty
Lift him higher, he is God

Do you lift God higher each day?

God is ever faithful to us, and when we give our lives to Him, we are promising to be faithful to Him. Even when we do or say things we shouldn’t, God forgives us, and welcomes us back to Him.

1 Chronicles 16:23-25 (NIV)

Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous deeds among all peoples.
For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.

God is great, so tell the world how wonderful and faithful

So we’re now two weeks into the World Cup 2010, and are now at the round of the last 16.

The group stages saw a number of surprise score lines, and resulted in two of the “big name” countries, France and Italy, departing the tournament at the end of the group stages. Then there were the surprises of the tournament – I’m sure we all have our own views on who they have been, but the surprises to me are New Zealand, who I know didn’t make it out the group stage, but, boy did they play well, particularly against Italy.

For me the best team so far have been Argentina. Others such as Brazil and German have had their moments, but have also looked quite suspect at times. So my prediction for world cup glory is Argentina. As a complete outsider to lift the trophy, I would go for Japan, as they have played very well and looked well organised and confident.

But who has impressed you? Who do you think looks good enough to go all the way and lift the trophy in a few weeks time?

When we’re young we are taught to say “please” and “thank you”. I remember a number of occassions being prevented from getting whatever it was I’d asked for, because I’d not said “the magic word”! Do you have similar memories?
All those times have done their job though, as I’d say I definitely say “please” and “thank you” whenever I’m asking someone for something, or I’m given something.
But wait a minute, do I really always say “please” and “thank you”? Well I do always say thank you to those around me, but now I stop and think about it, there is one person I very often take for granted and never say “thank you” to, although I often say “please” to them as I’m often asking for so much from them…and who is that?
I’m sure you’ve realised by now I’m talking about God. How many times today have you said “thank you” to God? What about this week, how many time have you thanked God for all He does for you?
Now count how many times you’ve said “please” to God today when you’ve been asking Him for something? And what about in the last week, how many times have you asked God for something?

If you’re anything like me, you’ll probably find the “please’s” far outnumber the “thank you’s”!

Do something about that now, say “thank you God” for all God has done for you, and for all He continues to do for you.

Give God the Glory He truly deserves.

My Tribute (To God be the Glory) – Sissel and the Oslo Gospel Choir
How can I say thanks
For the things you have done for me
Things so undeserved
Yet You gave to prove your love for me
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to thee

To God be the glory, to God be the glory
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done

Just let me live my life
And let it be pleasing Lord to thee
And should I gain any praise
Let it go to Calvary

With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory
For the things He has done

To God be the glory, to God be the glory
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done
