When life gets tough it can seem like nothing is possible. However we can often find more strength than we knew we possessed during those times, to overcome adversity.

God is with us during our happiest of times, but he’s also with us through our darkest times. Even when don’t feel God is with us, He is. And it’s Him who gives us our greatest strength to face every situation we face in life.

Always remember, it’s during those tough times, that we grow the most, because those situations give us real-life experience allowing us to grow and learn. That’s probably not how it feels when we’re going through those difficult times, but when you look back on them once you’re in a happier place, I’m sure you’ll realise then how much strength God gave you to get through those difficult days.

When you’re at your lowest, what raises your spirits and helps you see a future you want to be part of?

For me, when I’ve been at my lowest I had someone who gave me the strength and reassurance to get me through.

No the title of this blog post is not a typo, I did mean to type “weak” rather than “week”!

Let me explain…

A week can seem a short time sometimes, but there times it can seem like an eternity. That’s why when I was recently reminded of the following statement:

Seven days without prayer, makes one weak.

When it’s a week without prayer, without God, is a week can seem like an eternity because don’t we need the strength and guidance that God provides us with through prayer to get us through each day?

When life gets tough, don’t turn away from prayer, but immediately turn to prayer as God will give you the strength required to face what lies ahead.

Today, I simply want to tell you that His Strength Is Perfect

I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength
But sometimes I wonder what He can do through me?
No great success to show, no glory on my own
Yet in my weakness He is there to let me know

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone
Hell carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power, the weak become strong
His strength is perfect, His strength is perfect

We can only know the power that He holds
When we truly see how deep our weakness goes
His strength in us begins, where ours comes to an end
He hears our humble cry and proves again

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone
Hell carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power, the weak become strong
His strength is perfect

His strength is perfect when our strength is gone
Hell carry us when we can’t carry on
Raised in His power, the weak become strong
His strength is perfect

His strength is perfect
Raised in His power, the weak become strong
His strength is perfect
His strength is perfect

Yesterday in Falling Apart I tried to remind you that when life gets tough, it is essential that we trust God because He can provide the support and help we need to face whatever life throws our way. Well today I want to urge you again to turn to God when you need strength to face another day.

In the above quote from Philippians we are reminded that we can achieve anything when we simply rely on God’s strength. So please, when life gets tough turn to God because He will provide the strength you need to face each day.

I’ve used this song many times before, but I make no apology for using it again – Here’s Steven Curtis Chapman with His Strength Is Perfect:

Sometimes when life seems to be going against us, we find it difficult to find the strength to face each day. Fortunately for us, God is able to provide that much needed strength, all we have to do is trust him and believe in him, and He will provide for us, because His strength is perfect.

Isaiah 41:10 – fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God’s strength > My weaknesses

i.e. God’s strength is perfect when our strength is gone

His Strength is Perfect

In my blog posts these last few days, I’ve been reminding you that God is always there for us, even during the times when we try to go it alone and forget He’s even there with us. Well today I’d like to give you another reminder:

Again, it’s all about remembering to keep God at the centre of our lives, no matter how tough life get, or how much we just want to give up on life, because God is always there with us. So when life gets tough and we have no strength left of our own, remember to get down on your knees and pray to God, because He does answer prayer, and He will answer yours.

When we pray we strengthen our relationship with God.

When we listen to God, we strengthen our relationship with Him.

We must pray about our loved ones and our relationships.

God brings wonderful people into our lives – some to encourage us, some to help us fulfill God’s plan for our lives, some for us to help and others whose company we just enjoy.

Conversely the Devil also introduces us to people that will hurt us, disappoint us, betray us, drain us or use us to further themselves. We must therefore, listen to God’s guidance and trust Him, as He will help us recognise those the Devil has sent, those who will be wrong for us.

Pray to God. Listen to God. Work for God. He alone is with you at all times.

Are you weary of your weariness?

Wouldn’t you like to rise above it?

Have confidence in God, He will help you through. If you wait on God’s help instead of relying on your own strength alone, He will help you do amazing things.

You don’t need to kneel down in prayer, be in church, or even be silent and still to wait on God. You can wait on Him at anytime and anywhere
  • you can stop internally even as you are busy externally
  • you can wait on the Lord in your car, the supermarket, school, work, or in a meeting
Spend time with God, waiting on Him, listening to Him. Bathe in the atmosphere of strength He will provide. God will help mend our raw nerve ending, and still our turmoils.

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
