Why do we do the things we do
How can we sing when there seems no reason to
How do we smile when there’s not much to smile about
When the world is down who are we to stand and shout
They wonder why we do the things we do

These are questions I’ve often pondered. Questions which really only have one answer…

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. ~ John 3:16 (The message)

It’s all because of this
It’s all because of this
We’ve tasted love, tasted hope, tasted holiness

Over two thousand years ago when Mary and Joseph tried to find somewhere to sleep, there was no room for them…there was no room for Jesus.

Over two thousand years on, those of us who believe in God and believe the true reason we celebrate Christmas are in the minority, as everyone else has no room for Jesus.

This Christmas, please don’t get too caught up in buying presents, partying, and making sure you’ve got all the food required for Christmas dinner, without at least sparing a few moments to remember the reason for the season.

Make some room for Christ this Christmas, He’s waiting for you this Christmas.

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him… give my heart.
