Yesterday in From Heaven He Came, I talked about how Jesus came to earth to servant God, and that we also should be God’s servants.

I’ve always found the word “servant” make me think of people who are treated more like slaves than servants, who are willing to serve their master. Is that just me?

Thankfully regardless of what I think of when I hear the word “servant”, being God’s servant is not about being His slave, it’s about serving His because we want to, because we love Him and He loves us unquestioningly.

If you are not already serving God, why not make that step this Christmas, by kneeling before Him and giving Him your all.

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

Do you feel you are living your life to the full, or are there too many distractions around which stop you from living your life to the full?

Whatever is stopping you from living your life to the full, take it to God, He will help you overcome those distractions and live your life the way He has planned for you.

Jesus said this about God. “The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” (John 8:29).

God never left Jesus alone, and He never leaves us alone either. Even when life seems tough and God seems to be nowhere to be found, He is still there, and will show himself at just the right time. Why? Because He has promised that He will always he there for us.

Jesus doesn’t put distance between us, in fact He says:

I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father ~ John 15:15

Jesus wants to be close to us, and He wants us to learn everything He has learned from God. So let Jesus get close to you by letting Him into your life today.

Do you have people you’d rather not spend time with?

Fortunately for us, Jesus doesn’t ever want to put distance between Him and us, and says:

In all truth I tell you, whoever believes in me will perform the same works as I do myself, and will perform even greater works ~ John 14:12

Therefore, stay close to Jesus, because He wants to stay close to you.

what why when and whereHave you given your heart to Jesus?

Have you given the whole of your life, everything, to Him?

Are you wondering when and where you can ask God into your life?

God doesn’t care where you are or what time it is, when you give your all to Him, He is simply thankfully that you have made the decision to come to Him. So if you’re debating when to seek God, please do so now wherever you are, because He is there and He hears every desire of your heart.

The Christ of Calvary,
The dearest name to me,
Is the matchless name of Jesus,
The Christ of Calvary

Is Jesus the dearest name to you?

Jesus gave His life for me and for you. He paid the ransom for our lives, just so all our sins could be forgiven.

Let Jesus be part of your life; Let Him be at the centre of all you do; Live your life for Him.

There were a few things said during our worship yesterday morning, that challenged me and got me thinking. One thing in particular has stuck in my mind and has been nagging at me since then…

We can decide to do something, but it’s not actually the same at doing it!

Yes, I decided a long time ago to follow Jesus, but have I actually put those words into action, by living my life for Jesus?

The majority of the time, yes, I have put those words into action, but what about the times that I fail? Thankfully I know that God sticks by me, and forgives me when I fail Him by not acting as I should. I therefore pray that God will continue to help me to live my life for Jesus, by putting His teachings into action.

How about you, have you decided to follow Jesus? And more importantly, have you put your decisions into action by living your life for Christ? If not it isn’t too late to take action, just turn to God and ask Him to help you, because He will help you.

Wrong place wrong time

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard this said, and in particular the number  of times it’s actually been said to me this week., and to be honest, it’s been weighing heavily on my mind.

Because we’re often put there by the careless actions, conversations or perceptions of others. How nice would it be if everyone in our world would truly live by the words “Just as I am”, and accept others just as they are too.

Enjoy being you, just where you, because God knows everything that troubles you, and everything you’re going through, and sends the right people to you at the right times and in the right circumstances.

Let’s make sure our time is in God’s hands because He will always place us in the right place, with the right people, in His time.

Prayer is the soul’s sincere desire,
Uttered or unexpressed,
The motion of a hidden fire
That trembles in the breast.
Prayer is the burden of a sigh`
The falling of a tear;
The upward glancing of an eye
When none but God is near.
by James Montgomery (1771-1854)

When we feel alone…Jesus is there for us.

When we feel rejected…Jesus is there for us.

When life is cruel to us…Jesus is there for us.

In all these situations, pray, because Jesus is there for you, and will help you.
