We find rest in those we love,  and we provide a resting place in ourselves for those who love us ~ Saint Bernard of Clairvaux

When we’re in the presence of those we love, something happens to us, we relax, we be ourselves, we show our love openly in both our words and our actions. It’s good to be in the presence of those we love isn’t it. It can be particularly restful when we’ve had a tough day, and go home to spend time with our loved ones.

That’s why I’m thankful I can  say I have a place where I can relax, my home with my husband.

I pray you too may be able to spend some time of peace and relaxation with your loved ones on a regular basis.

God is good – He provides all we need to get through our busy and stressful lives.

When difficult times come your way and stay with you for what seems like eternity, you may feel as if God doesn’t love you and doesn’t care about you.

That however couldn’t be further from the truth, because the truth is that God loves you too much to leave you the way you are.

I’m sure having read the title of this post you’ve already had a dark depressing image come into you mind. So just to be sure you image is what I want, here’s the full phrase

Dark and cheerless is the morn

Dark heavy black skies, rain, thunder, windy… all words that come to my mind on reading those words.

But I’m sure your image will change when I tell you the next part of the phrase

Dark and cheerless is the morn unaccompanied by Thee

Wow, the image is so much brighter now isn’t it? By adding one line to the words, the image is so much brighter. Similarly, our lives may be difficult and stressful, however by adding one thing, God, our life, although it may not be any less stressful or difficult, will be easier because God will walk beside us through everything life throws our way.

Without God in our life, our lives may well be “dark and cheerless”, so let God brighten your life by being the centre of your life.

We exist to make a big deal out of God.

It’s not about you. It’s not about me. It’s all about Him!

When everything in our life is centred around God, our life is full of love for others and for God.

All About Love by Steven Curtis Chapman

We’ve got CDs, tapes and videos, radios and TV shows
Conferences, retreats and seminars
We’ve got books and magazines to read on everything from A to Z
And a web to surf from anywhere we are
But I hope with all this information buzzing through our brains
That we will not let our hearts forget the most important thing is

Love love love love love …it’s all about
 Love love love love love
Everything else comes down to this
Nothing any higher on the list than love
It’s all about love

Now they’re fighting in the Middle East and they’re fighting down on 7th street
And there are fights in my own house on given days
It’s like something’s lurking deep inside that can’t seem to be satisfied
But life was not meant to be lived this way
‘Cause it’s true for every man and woman, every boy and girl
That our only hope for living here together in this world is …

Love love love love love …it’s all about
 Love love love love love
Everything else comes down to this
Nothing any higher on the list than love

This is the reason we were made
To know the love of our creator
And to give the love He’s given us away
Yeah, the Maker and the Father and the God of everything
He says to …

Love love love … He says love love love
Love love love … ’cause after all it’s all about love
God says …

Love love love love love …it’s all about
 Love love love love love
Everything else comes down to this
Nothing any higher on the list than love
’cause after all it’s all about love

Testify To Love by Avalon

All the colours of the rainbow
All of voices of the wind
Every dream that reaches out
That reaches out to find where love begins
Every word of every story
Every star in every sky
Every corner of creation lives to testify
For as long as I shall live
I will testify to love
I’ll be a witness in the silences when words are not enough
With every breath I take I will give thanks to God above
For as long as I shall live
I will testify to love
From the mountains to the valleys
From the rivers to the sea
Every hand that reaches out
Every hand that reaches out to offer peace
Every simple act of mercy
Every step to kingdom come
All the Hope in every heart will speak what love has done.

How about you, will you testify to love for as long as you live?

I will do my best to testify for God for the rest of my live, but I know I will only be able to achieve this with God’s help. That is why I pray each day that He will continue to help and guide me each day.

Here are five things you probably didn’t know or never really thought about:Love

  1. At least five people in this world love you so much they would die for you.
  2. If not for you, someone may not be living.
  3. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.
  4.  A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.
  5. You are special and unique.

I particularly like #5 as this reminds us of exactly how God considers us…special and unique, just the way He made us!

During my wandering through the internet over the last while, I’ve come across a lot of statements and quotes about relationships. So today I’d like to share with you some of those I particularly liked:

  1.  i-love-youIn life you’ll realize there is a purpose for everyone you meet.  Some will test you, some will use you, and some will teach you. But most importantly, some will bring out the best in you.
  2. Keep the people in your life who truly love you, motivate you, encourage you, enhance you, and make you happy.  If you have others in your life who do none of these things, let them go.
  3. Being alone does not mean you are lonely, and being lonely does not mean you are alone.
  4. Love means giving someone the chance to hurt you, but trusting them not to.
  5. You know you’ve found true love when you catch yourself falling in love with the same person over and over again.
  6. Someone else doesn’t have to be wrong for you to be right.
  7. Never do something permanently foolish just because you are temporarily upset.
  8. It’s not so much what you say that counts, it’s how you make people feel.
  9.  Falling in love is not a choice.  To stay in love is.
  10. Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness.  So let them go!

My personal favourites from the above list are #4 and #5. #5 in particular brings a smile to my face as I can personally say I’ve experienced this one!

What’s the best news you’ve ever been given? Maybe the news that you’ve passed your exams, or someone you care about telling you they love you?

Those things may be great news, but the best news that you will ever come to acknowledge, is that God loves you!

God’s love is unconditional unlike the love we experience from so many people during our lives. You don’t even need to do anything for God to love you, because before you were even born, God knew you and promised to love you always.

How Loved Am I by Lara Martin

O Lord, you are my keeper,
I will never be in want;
You hold me close, so tender,
And quiet me with love.
And I hear You singing over me,
I hear You singing over me.

Songs of countless promises,
Like kisses from heaven they fall.
‘How loved am I.’
Songs that take me to higher heights,
Such favour I know is divine.
‘How loved am I, how loved am I.’

O Lord, You are my keeper,
My heart is safe with You.
Though in life there will be valleys,
You take my hand and lead me through.

We are often told that we should live life to the full because we never know what’s round the corner for us in life. Maybe that’s why we should be more careful about the things we can never recover:

  1.  A stone…after it’s thrownenjoy-life
  2. A word…after it is said
  3. An occasion…after it’s missed
  4. The time…after it’s gone
  5. A person…after they die.

Life is short.

Break the rules.

Forgive quickly.

Kiss slowly.

Love truly.

Laugh uncontrollably.

And never regret anything that made you smile, enjoy life to the full.

People need loving the most when they deserve it the least – John Harrison

Do you think there’s a reason why those most in need of love seem to be the ones who least deserve it?

Probably! If you’ve never experienced true love, and the peace and joy that can bring, how can we think they’ll understand how to treat and respect others.

I’m sure we can all think of people we know personally as well as people those we hear about in the news or on the television. But just because we don;t think someone deserves to be loved, it probably the biggest reason why we should in fact love them!

God loves each and every one of us, no matter how many wrongs we’ve committed or whether we believe in Him or not. And that folks, is exactly the reason why we must love everyone, especially those who seem to be unloveable.
