We often complain about how busy we all are, and how quickly we all go through each day. However one benefit of living in these times is our unlimited access to information – Mind you sometimes we hear information that we wish we didn’t, such as terror attacks, murders, natural disasters etc.

With access to so much information, there are always ways for us to expand our knowledge. Whether it’s gait a subject, topic or hobby that you are interested in, learning new things can help you improve your enthusiasm for life while still improving your own skills and knowledge.

So keep learning, and keep growing!

Are you looking for simple ways to encourage your heart and nourish your soul?

In the last while I’ve given you some ideas which will hopefully inspire you to implement them in your own life, and over the coming weeks I’ll share some others with you.

So here’s today’s suggestion:

Celebrate small wins

When you are going through difficult times, it can seem like a long time between good events or wins. That’s while, when you’re going through difficult times, it’s extra important to celebrate even small wins or successes – maybe completing a task, getting good feedback, accepting negative feedback in a positive way etc.

So look for small wins in the midst of difficult circumstances, because in noting even the smallest of successes it will raise your spirits and nourish your soul.

So here’s today’s suggestion:

Take note of the good things from the day

At the end of each day, before you head to bed, take a moment to write down the things that went well for you during the day – It doesn’t matter how big or how the item is, as everything that goes well for you is a positive isn’t it! Be descriptive in what you write down, noting what role you played in making each happy moment happen. In doing this you’ll increasingly notice how much control you have over the good things in your life.

So here’s today’s suggestion:

Do something outside your comfort zone

I’m sure we all have things which we’re not comfortable doing because they put us in a situation where we feel vulnerable or exposed. However imagine conquering your fears face on, and actually putting yourself in the situation which you fear.

Do you fail or do you surprise yourself at how well you coped when out of your comfort zone?

I suspect many of us would find that when we put ourselves out of our comfort zone, we survived…the world didn’t fall apart, we didn’t fall into a big black hole, nobody made fun of us, and nobody died! Imagine that, our worst fears didn’t come true when we when out of our comfort zone!

You’ll find such a great sense of achievement when you survive being outside your comfort zone, and that’ll make your day, so go on step out of your comfort zone today!

Comfort Zone Quotes - A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but n

When you choose to do the right thing, even when it feels wrong, that’s when you’re making progress.

Not sure where I found this quote, but doesn’t it make sense?

Sometimes doing the right thing may seem difficult, but you’ll know it’s the right thing to do. When you do the right thing you’ll get a good feeling inside you, knowing you’ve done the right thing.

You’ll have gathered by now that I am a fan of Nicky Gumbel. And today is no different as I want to share another quote from Nicky Gumbel that I really love:

The reason why people give up so fast is because they tend to look at how far they still have to go, instead of how far they have come.

I’ve heard it said many times that you should never look back but instead look ahead. However it can be tough when your goals continue to seem a long way off, and don’t seem to be getting any closer to you. That’s why sometimes it is good to look back, because only then will we realise just how much we’ve already achieved and how far we’ve already come.

Our goal might just seem a more within our reach when we realise how close it is in comparison to how far we’ve come. So don’t give up until you’ve at least reminded yourself how far you’ve already come.

So here’s today’s suggestion:

Don’t make any decisions!

Why not try to reduce the number of decisions you have to make in a morning to as near to zero as possible, as this will help you relax in the morning.

I know you’re wondering how you can possibly not make any decisions when you get up in a morning, well there’s 2 things you can do to help this:

  1. Organise and plan the night before what you’re going to have for your breakfast, what time you’re going to get up, what you’re going to wear and the route you’re to take to work etc.
  2. Have a routine every morning, as this way your routine will be so engrained in you that you’ll not have to think about having to make any decisions.

In the last while I’ve given you some ideas which will hopefully inspire you to implement them in your own life, and over the coming weeks I’ll share some others with you.

So here’s today’s suggestion:

Start your day off with a massage

You probably are wondering how I expect you to start your day off with a massage, but it’s actually easier than you think – get a plastic chair, such as those you get for the garden, and put in it your shower, turn the water on and let the water heat up the seat. Then get into the shower and let the water hit off your back for a few minutes, it’ll feel just like your own personal massage which will hopefully relax and energise you.

After a few minutes, take the chair out he shower and carry on with your shower and your day.

So here’s today’s suggestion:

Set your alarm to go off 15 minutes early

This week’s suggestion follows on from the suggestions I gave you for the last 2 weeks, as it’s about you sleeping time! I’m sure many of you, like me can find it difficult to leave the comfort of your bed in the morning when the alarm goes off and so after saying you’ll “just have 5 more minutes”, and then “another 5 minutes”, you find yourself running late and then having to rush round the house to get yourself out in time.

So how do we make our morning’s a bit more relaxed? Well, set your alarm to go off 15 minutes earlier than you actually need to get up – This will allow you wake up slowly, and have your extra 5 minutes a couple of times, and still end up getting up in plenty of time to get yourself up and out the house in time.
