Speech

No matter what anyone else thinks, I truly believe that what we say and how we say it really does matter.

I suspect we’ve all been hurt at some time or another by what or how someone has said something to us. I know I have been guilty of saying things to others in a way that I shouldn’t and for that I am sorry – I pray daily that God will help me to be more understanding and patient towards others, so that I do not speak to others in a way that may hurt or offend them.

Just as we need to be careful what and how we speak to other adults, it’s just as important, if not more so, that we are extra careful what and how we speak to and in the presence of children. After all I’m sure we’ve all witnessed a child saying or doing something which they have copied from an adult or another child. Be careful what we say and how we talk to our children as this is how they will talk to others!

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. ~ Proverbs 18:21
