The reason we celebrate Christmas is because of Christ.

The reason Christ came to earth was to set us free.

The reason God wants us to serve Him is because Christ died for us.

The reason Christ died for us is because God loves us so much that he was willing to let his one and only son die so we might be forgiven.

This Christmas, as well as spending time with friends and family and exchanging presents, please take some time to say thank you to God for giving us Christ!

I pray you may experience the joy that only a relationship with Christ can bring you this Christmas.

In the last few months in Slogans #1, Slogans #2 and Slogans #3, , I mentioned how we all see and hear many adverts on a daily basis via advertising hoardings or adverts on the radio, television  magazines and newspapers.

Today again I want to give you some more slogans to see how many of the companies/organisations associated with them you can identify from their slogans?

  1. Innovation
  2. Impossible is nothing
  3. Soft, strong and very long
  4. The ultimate driving experience
  5. Everyday food made easy
  6. Because life’s complicated enough
  7. Ideas for life
  8. Push button publishing
  9. Success. It’s a mind game
  10. Think big

So that’s the slogans, how many do you think you know?

So here’s the answers…

  1. 3M
  2. Adidas
  3. Andrex toilet tissue
  4. BMW
  5. Sainsbury’s
  6. Abbey National
  7. Panasonic
  8. Blogger
  9. Tag Heuer
  10. IMAX

There were a few tricky ones in there, so if you got them all, well done!

I’ll be doing a few more of these in the coming weeks, so keep watching the adverts and remembering the slogans!

Today is Remembrance Sunday when we think of those who have served in our armed forced at some time. We especially think of those who have lost their lives while on active service as well as their families.

This Remembrance Sunday I’ve found myself thinking of those in our armed forces who have been injured or killed in the UK where they were supposedly in a “safe” environment. It seems there are now no safe places/counties in this world of our anymore, and that for me is why it makes it even more important that even though we may not agree with the conflicts and roles in which our armed forced are involved, we continue to support our soldiers. They take their lives in their hands every day they are part of our armed forces, regardless of whether they are at home in the UK or on duty in another country.

So this Remembrance Sunday, please take a few minutes to think of those who have been injured or killed while part of our armed forced. But please also say a prayer for those who still serve in our armed forces, after all they are protecting our freedom and our lives!

Following on from yesterday when I spoke about how it’s important not to give up just because we fail, today it’s about whether we actually do anything at all.

How many times have you not bothered doing something because you know someone else would do it plus a lot more? But how do we ever learn or grow if we never try to do a little more than we feel we are capable of?

Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little ~ Burke

Sometimes it can seem pointless to put in the effort to do something when you know you can only do very little, however imagine the boost it would give you if you managed to do that small amount plus a little bit more! What a mistake that would have been if you’d never put in the effort to your little bit!

Don’t make a mistake by doing nothing when you know you can do something. After all, every little helps doesn’t it?

Sometimes God can ask us to do something which we feel totally unprepared for. Therefore, when we say “yes” to God it can often seem like we’re stepping out into the unknown, but don’t worry, God will be there with you.

God will not ask you to do something which he does not think you are capable of. Even if you think you don’t have the knowledge to do the task, don’t worry, God will prepare you and give you the knowledge you need.

So don’t be afraid to “yes” to whatever God asks you to do, because He will be with you when to step out into the unknown.

trust-in-handsTrust is something which I’ve found many people expect but sadly so few earn. I’ve found a number of times when I’ve trusted someone, that despite me never betraying their trust, they seem willing to betray my trust without any hesitation.

Thankfully not everyone is like that – I am confident that anyone who has confided in me, will never find I have betrayed them, as I believe if someone trusts enough in me not to betray their confidence, keeping that confidence is the least I can do to return that trust and belief.

I am just thankful that I know one person who I can trust with my life…God!

Why am I so confident that I can trust God with my life? Because God gave it to me!

Behind me is infinite power, before me is endless possibility, around me is boundless opportunity ~ Author Unknown

I don’t know who said the above, or even if they had any religious beliefs, however when I read this, I couldn’t help but think that for these statements to be true there must be a firm foundation in something…God!

God is almighty, and has the power and strength to support us in ever situation.

God’s plan for our life means we have unimaginable possibilities of what we will achieve in our life.

God provides many situations in our life for us to choose His path and follow Him.

Ultimately however, the choice is ours, to follow God and accept all He offers us, or go our own way and face lots of uncertainly. I know what my choice is…God!

God will never give up on you. He is always there for you. He endures every difficulty with you. He loves you ~ Nicky Gumbel

Following on from yesterday’s blog post (Knowing God), the above quote from Nicky Gumbel is another reminder that we should never try to go it alone, because God is with you always.

Even though at times it may feel as if God has deserted you, He hasn’t He’s with you every step of the way – Never give up on Him!

Did the words of the song in the above video ring true for you?

Do you believe God will carry you through every problem, every trial?

I do! God is my strength and comfort at all times, and He can be yours too, you just need to ask Him

The words of the above song, He Will Carry Me by Mark Schultz,  are so true to me, I want to share these with you

I call, You hear me
I’ve lost it all
And it’s more than I can bear
I feel so empty

You’re strong, I’m weary
I’m holding on
But I feel like giving in
But still You’re with me

(Pre-chorus and Chorus)
And even though I’m walking
Through the valley of the shadow
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
Whose love will comfort me
And when all hope is gone
And I’ve been wounded in the battle
He is all the strength that I will ever need
He will carry me

I know I’m broken
But You alone
Can mend this heart of mine
You’re always with me
And even though I’m walking
Through the valley of the shadow
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
Whose love will comfort me
And when all hope is gone
And I’ve been wounded in the battle
He is all the strength that I will ever need
He will carry me
He will carry me

And even though I feel so lonely
Like I have never been before
You never said it would be easy
But You said You’d see me through the storm

And even though I’m walking
Through the valley of the shadow
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
Whose love will comfort me
And when all hope is gone
And I’ve been wounded in the battle
He is all the strength that I will ever need
He will carry me
He will carry me
He will carry me

Romans 12:21 (NIV) – Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Following on from yesterday’s blog post In the Confusion, today’s blog post is about reinforcing the belief that no matter what happens in our life, in our world, God will still win through.

There will be hope

There will be love

but most importantly

There will be God
