As I’ve said many times before in my blog posts, life can be hard at times. It is even harder when doing the same thing can mean you’re either courageous or stupid! So how on earth are we supposed to be clever enough to work out when taking an action is courageous or whether it’s stupid?

Answer: We’re not! Sometimes it’s just luck whether an action turns our to be courageous or stupid. One thing is certain though, if we seek God’s guidance in everything we do, He will help us make the right decisions and hopefully help our actions to be courageous rather than stupid.

I recent heard My Prayer For You by Alisa Turner for the first time, and the words and the music really touched me. So please just sit back and listen to the beautiful words and music of this song:

For anyone who’s prayed a thousand prayers
And still can’t find the answer anywhere
Fighting off the lie that no one cares
For anyone who’s out there losing hope
Feeling you’re forsaken and alone
Clinging to the last strands of your rope

May God give you eyes to see, He’s still greater
Courage to rise and believe He’s able
May God be your peace in the fire you’re walking through
This is my prayer now
This is my prayer for you

For all of those with tired and weary souls
But still have faith to ask for miracles
Choosing to believe He’s in control

May God give you eyes to see, He’s still greater
Courage to rise and believe He’s able
May God be your peace in the fire you’re walking through
This is my prayer now
This is my prayer

When those around us dismiss God and tell us we’re crazy to believe in his existence, we must stay strong, and keep on believing in Him.

We need God’s strength and courage to help us in those situations, so stay strong.

To the ends of the earth we will go
Fill us with power
For the truth of Your word we will stand
Give us Your courage

Have you ever experienced this, either as the recipient or the giver?

It can be hard not to retaliate when someone says or does something to hurt you. However if we return hatred with forgiveness, evil with love, hurtful words with prayer, we can do no more.

If we do nothing, how can we ever expect the world to find and acknowledge God?

strong and courageous

We all get afraid sometimes, particularly when what lies ahead of us seems frightening and we’re unsure if we’ll cope. However I can tell you from my own experience that even when I’ve felt afraid, it’s not seemed quite as bad because I know God is always with me, and will give be the strength and courage to face whatever comes my way.

good friends

Do your friends there for you in all the way described above?

If not, are they really real friends!

When it come to courage, would you consider yourself to be as courageous as a lion or as timid as a mouse?

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is a quiet voice at the end of the day, saying, “I will try again tomorrow.” ~ Mary Anne Radmacher

Sometimes when times are tough, to be courageous and strong, requires great self-composure and silence, so you can listen.

Courage isn’t always about physical strength as we often need courage to face difficult situations which do not require physical strength but mental strength. Therefore whether you are a loud roaring lion or a timid quiet mouse, we each possess all the qualities to be courageous.

Who or what do you think of when you hear the word “hero“?

Well here’s the dictionary definition of a hero:

  • a man distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, fortitude, etc
  • a man who is idealized for possessing superior qualities in any field
  • (Myth & Legend / Classical Myth & Legend) Classical myth a being of extraordinary strength and courage, often the offspring of a mortal and a god, who is celebrated for his exploits
  • the principal male character in a novel, play, etc.

Do you need a hero?

Sometimes life can be so tough and there seems no way to get through it. That’s when we could all use a hero, strong brave person who will never let us down.

Who is there like that?

Let Jesus be your hero today!

Are you courageous in your faith?

Whenever you’re presented with an opportunity to speak out about your beliefs and your faith, do you do so? Or, do you keep quiet but inside keep telling yourself you need to speak out?

If I’m honest what I do will depend on the situation, those I’m with and the reason I feel I should speak out. In other words, in some situations I will speak out and in others I keep quiet and don’t let anyone know I have a problem with what’s being said or done.

How about you, are you courageous in your faith?

Please watch this video of Jamie Owens-Collins singing Hearts Courageous:

It can be very very difficult to have the courage to speak out when others around you appear to be OK with what is being said or done. But has it occurred to you that maybe you’re not the only one who isn’t OK with what’s happening. i.e. Maybe there are others having the same issues as you, trying to find the courage to speak out.

In times like these, pray, because God will give you the strength and the words to stand up for what you believe in. Be strong, God will give you the courage to do what is right!

God is with us everyday, wherever we are and whatever we are doing. Trust Him for all you need and He will not let you down.
