In the UK, today is Mother’s Day, so for many today is day to say thank you to our Mum’s for all they have done/do for us, and just generally spoil them for at least today!

For those of us whose mother’s have passed away, the lead up to Mother’s Day with all the adverts on TV can be difficult, nevermind Mother’s Day itself when all around there are people celebrating with their Mums. It can also be a difficult day for those who have wanted children but who for whatever result, have been unable to have children.

A couple of months ago we went to the Liv On concert with Amy Sky, Beth Nielsen Chapman, and Olivia Newton-John. Here’s some of what their website tells us about this project:

The LIV ON Project and CD came to fruition the way many of the best collaborations do…via a series of conversations between friends about what matters most in life: Love, loss, hope and healing.

All three had endured profound, life-altering losses and yet each remained committed to one thing: a desire to transform individual grief into healing via music… for all.

This very special collection of songs will help lift the hearts of others going through their own hardship, whatever the cause.

The songs on the “LIV ON” CD take the listener on a journey of remembrance, toward one of inspiration and hope.

As well, the three mega-stars have created several brand new songs, including the title track, “Live On,” which born of their own exploration into the pain of loss, the growth that follows and eventually, the journey toward renewed joy.

“We found that any time we shared a vulnerable part of us, we felt such an overwhelming feeling of kinship and relief… that we were not alone with our pain. We hope these songs that came from the depths of us, will offer a place of comfort to others.” ~ Olivia Newton-John

I found the words and the music of all the songs presented at the concert very inspiring, so I just wanted to share with you today the title track from the Liv On CD, entitled Live On:

Live On by Amy, Olivia and Beth

I’m waking up this morning
Grateful for the gift of one more day
The light of hope is dawning
It fills my heart and lifts my fears away
Sometimes there’s a miracle just beyond the pain
When you can see the rainbow in the rain

Live on, live on
Brighter skies will come again
Cry the tears you cry and then live on, live on
Love is all we leave when we are gone live on

We’ve shared so much together
Think of all the mountains we have climbed
Sorrow joy and laughter
Woven through the tapestry of time
Even as we’re letting go we will not lose faith
All the precious memories we make

Live on, live on
In the hearts of those we touch
All the dreams inside of us live on, live on
Love is all we leave when we are gone live on

Live on, live on
More than just survive my friend
We learn how to thrive and then live on, live on
Shining like the words inside this song, live on

Love is all we leave when we are gone live on
In every heart of those we touch
In every dream that means so much
Yes I believe that all of us live on

hope for growing christian

Lead the lost – That sounds like an instruction doesn’t it?

Well it is! As a Christian, I have promised to do all I can to live like Christ, and that includes spreading God’s message of love and forgiveness. In doing this to everyone I encounter in my life, I hope and pray that I can help lead those who are lost to Christ, so that they can find hope.

Are you doing all you can to lead the lost to Christ?

God’s Eternal Seeds

We need to keep on sowing
The seeds of Jesus Christ
Of hope, grace and mercy
Into our children’s lives

For they need to know God’s love
And the hope there is in Him
Of receiving eternal salvation
And forgiveness of their sins

For if we remain faithful
In the sowing of this seed
We will reap the rewards of it
As we see them come to believe

And be planted like a tree
Beside God’s flowing river
So they will be continually refreshed
And their leaves shall never wither

Their fruit shall also be
Ready in its season
Freely given out to those
Whose lives they’re sowing seeds in

So as we keep on sowing
We shall surely reap
A bountiful harvest in their lives
From God’s eternal seeds

Keep working for God, and He will keep working for you. You will find eternal happiness when you serve God all your days.

Are you someone who dwells in the past, or do you quickly move on from past situations and live for today, looking forward to the future?

Sometimes it can be easy to keep looking back and wishing we’d done this things or not said this or that, but what do we actually achieve by doing this? Not a lot other than probably upsetting ourselves about a past situation which we cannot change.

I recently came across the following quote which really stuck with me:

Regret looks back. Fear looks around. Worry looks in. Faith looks up. Hope looks forward.

How true is this, we can be consumed by regrets, fear and worry if we try and get through life on our own. So never forget God is with you, have faith in Him and believe He will be with you in every day from now to eternity.

AloneAre you lonely, or in need someone to love, support and encourage you?

Do you know of someone who is lonely, or in need of someone to love, support and encourage them?

I’m sure we all know of at least one person who is in need? If you can’t think of anyone, take a few minutes out from your busy life and have a close look at those around you, as I’m sure there is someone not far from you who needs you, and who needs Christ.

Not Too Far From Here

Somebody’s down to their last dime
Somebody’s running out of time
Not too far from here
Somebody’s got nowhere else to go
Somebody needs a little hope
Not too far from here

And I may not know their name
But I’m praying just the same
That You’ll use me, Lord
To wipe away the tears
‘Cause somebody’s crying Not too far from here

Somebody’s troubled and confused
Somebody’s got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here
Somebody’s forgotten how to trust
And somebody’s dying for love
Not too far from here

It may be a stranger’s face
But I’m praying for Your grace
To move in me
And take away the fear
‘Cause somebody’s hurting
Not too far from here

Help me, Lord, not to turn away from pain
Help me not to rest, while those around me weep
Give me Your strength and compassion
When somebody finds, the road of life too steep

Somebody’s troubled and confused
Somebody’s got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here (Not too far)
Somebody’s forgotten how to trust
And somebody’s dying for love
Not too far from here (Not too far)

Now I’m letting down my guard
And I’m opening my heart
Help me speak Your love
To every needful ear
Someone is waiting
Not too far from here (Not too far)

Someone is waiting (Waiting)
Not too far from here

Reach out and help and support those around you, because everyone needs someone sometime.

Everything I Need by Kutless
When every step is so hard to take
And all of my hope is fading away
When life is a mountain that I can not climb
You carry me, Jesus carry me.

You Are strength in my weakness
You are the refuge I seek
You are everything in my time of need
You are everything, You are everything I need

When every moment is more than I can take
And all of my strength is slipping away
When every breath gets harder me
You carry me, Jesus carry me

You Are strength in my weakness
You are the refuge I seek
You are everything in my time of need
You are everything, You are everything I need

I need You
You are everything I need
I love everything about You

You Are strength in my weakness
You are the refuge I seek
You are everything in my time of need
You are everything, You are everything I need

Don’t ever think God cannot be everything you need, because He will be your everything if you let Him. So let God into your life today, and let Him support you in everything you do, in every situation.

Imagine what Christmas would be like if there was no Christ

Imagine what your life would be like without Christ…

I’ve imagined it and I don’t like what I see – A world without Christ we would be a world without hope.

So don’t live your life without hope this Christmas, let Christ be part of your Christmas this year and put the true spirit of Christmas back in our festivities this year!

Here’s Bellshill Band of the Salvation Army playing The Spirit of Christmas:

You’re all alone
Running out of ways to
Hold on to hope
And it always slips away
You’re all alone
But you don’t have to
Pretend to cope
There is a brighter way

Do the words of this song, ring true with you…Are you running out of ways to hold onto hope?

Don’t despair, there is still hope…there’s God!

As I said in yesterday’s blog post, you are Never Alone, because God is with you always. Therefore don’t feel alone, turn around and see God walking beside you.

I’m sure like me you’ve heard the following saying loads of times

Where there’s life there’s hope

But is that really true?

Of course it is! Where there is life, there is God because even when we forget or dismiss God, He is there giving us hope.

When life seems hopeless, God can lift us our of that hopelessness, so don’t ever give up. More importantly, don’t ever give up on God, because he will never give up on you!

I don’t know what your life is like or how you feel on a daily basis, but for me, life can be a bit of a struggle physically and emotionally a lot of the time. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that over the last few years I’ve sometimes considered life to be hopeless.

Hopeless…a word which when I hear it, makes my heart go out to those who use it, as I know and understand their pain when they feel life is that bad. I know compared to many my life has been fabulous, but we’re all human, and we all feel differently and react differently to every situation, so I can only tell you that yes, life did feel hopeless at times to me.

But from hopeless we can pull out the word “hope“, and just as the word hope can be found in the word hopeless, so we can find hope when life seems hopeless. Indeed this very weekend, on Easter Sunday, resurrection Sunday, we celebrate the greatest hope for the world, all because…Jesus is alive.

As I’ve just said, this coming Sunday, Easter Sunday celebrate and commemorate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ! In fact, isn’t that what we do every Sunday when we go to church, celebrate the hope that Christ’s resurrection gives us!

I hope you enjoy this wonderful song, His Glory Appears by Darlene Zschech, it means a lot to me as it talks about the hope that Christ gives us, and therefore fits perfectly with my thoughts for today:
