Humbleness

One of Jesus’ greatest qualities was humbleness. Maybe that’s why humbleness is one of the qualities we as humans find toughest to achieve!

Philippians 2:5 – 8 (The Message)

Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.

Humbleness is  a disposition to be humble; a lack of false pride…does that sound like a description of you?

To enable us to achieve some of Christ’s qualities we must:

  • Give every part of our life over to God
  • Communicate regularly with God. i.e. pray
  • Allow God to guide us in every situation we find ourself in

We must all strive to be humble, so I pray you will accept God’s help to allow you to achieve all you can in your life.

The song Humble King, performed in the following video by Brenton Brown, fit perfectly with my thoughts for today:
