Following on from yesterday’s post about our Expectations, would you say it is true that we can be guilty of expecting too much from God?
I’d agreed with that – I think we can often be guilty of taking all the smaller, more trivial things in our life to God, but when it comes to those huge events/decisions/issues in our life, we almost leave God to a last resort.
Why do we do this?
The simplest answer is probably because we’re human – we think we can deal with things on our own, so it’s only when it all goes wrong that we end up almost pleading with God to help us.
But why do we tend to take all the small things to God right away?
Again probably because we’re human! We know we should ask God for help, but we want to keep the “big” things to ourselves to deal with, so out of duty we just ask God to help with all the small stuff.
I know I’m very much generalizing here, but can you recognise yourself in my descriptions? I can certainly recognise myself, which in itself is quite scary!
Why not join me in taking ALL things to God, regardless of how small or how hugs they may be – After all God has promised to be there for us and help us at all time.
