As you can see from the above definition of the word exercise, we can exercise in different way. We live in a time when there is much obsession about how we look, and as part of that many have an obsession with keeping fit or taking physical exercise.

It’s good for our health to get some exercise however we must be careful not to become obsessed by our physical bodies or in how we look.

Physical exercise is good for our health, but what about mental exercises?

Well it too is good for us – As you may be aware I was recently off work for a few months and I must admit that when I went back to work I found it very difficult to concentrate for very long on my work and I put this entirely down to the lack of use of my mental skills for so long that caused my problems. I’m happy to report, normal service has now been resumed.

Finally what about our faith? Do we need to exercise that in the same way we need to get physical and mental exercise? Of course we do!

How can we claim to have a faith, and be a Christian, if we do not put into practice what God teaches us?

How do we learn from God? We read the bible and we pray.

So to exercise our faith we must put into action God’s teachings, we must read our bible and we must pray.

Make sure you exercise every area of your life, so that your physical, mental powers grow, but also so you grow in faith a love.
