Romans 12:9-11 (NIV)
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
I’m sure you’ve heard the following saying many times
God first, myself last, and others in between
It can be hard to put everyone else’s needs ahead of your one at times can’t it?
I know I personally find this hard a lot of the times, as in the last while I feel I get little chance to relax and chill for any more than just an hour or so at a time, as I’m having to do a lot of things for various other folks a lot of the time that I’m not at work. It can be hard on us physically and emotionally when we get little time to ourselves, however it can also be very rewarding when those we’re helping tell us how grateful they are for our help.
So why is it easier to put some people’s needs in front of our own than others?
It’s probably easier to put others first when they are people we love and care about, However God commands us to love all others, including our enemies and the unloveable, so we must try to love everyone, and put everyone’s needs in front of our own.
God will provide for us all we need, so don’t be afraid to put other’s needs in front of your own. God loves us, so we must love everyone too.
thank you for these words…they touched me!
