No matter how much we try to always say and do only what God would want us to say and do, during times of great stress or anger we can all be guilty of saying something which the second we say it, we regret it…and those can often be the fatal words in a relationship.
I read the following statement on Twitter recently:
Be careful with your words. Once they are spoken, they can only be forgiven, not forgotten!
Doesn’t that just sum up perfectly what I was saying? Yes we should be very careful about what we say, particularly in moments of frustration or anger, as those are the words most likely to hurt or upset the person they are aimed at, and in turn leave a lasting pain which they may forgive, but they will never forget!
