A Reminder of My Need

The other day in the office I was listening to my iPod while I read through some documentation. As is normally the case when I’m listening to my iPod in the office, it’s more of a background noise than me actually listening to the words and music.

Having said that though, at one point that day I suddenly realised my emotions where taking over and the tears were about to start streaming down my face!

Why? The words and music of the song that was playing on my ipod Draw Me Close by Kathy Troccoli had touched me subconsciously and I think if I hadn’t been sitting at my desk in the office I would have fallen to my knees!

I found I had to stop what I was doing and just listen to the rest of the song, with my hand firmly hiding my tar filled eyes from the others around me. I think with all that’s been going on in my life in the last while, between my Dad being in hospital, finding it tough being patient with my Mum and hubby not being very well, I’ve forgotten that God is all I need, and that He is always with me.

If you’ve been to caught up in life recently, and forgotten that God is always with you and will always provide for you, please join me in kneeling before Him and asking God to draw us close to Him.

Draw Me Close

Draw me close to you
Never let me go
I lay it all down again
To hear you say that I’m your friend

You are my desire
No one else will do
Cause nothing else can take your place
To feel the warmth of your embrace

Help me find the way
Bring me back to you

You’re all I want
You’re all I’ve ever needed
You’re all I want
Help me know you are near
