the simpsons

Last week I had a conversation with someone about The Simpsons which resulted in them telling me that I “needed help, all because in their opinion, I knew a lot about The Simpsons! To be honest I never really considered myself to be particularly knowledgeable about The Simpsons.

Anyway, who is your favourite character from the programme?

Ned FlandersMy favourite has got to be Ned Flanders as he is such a star, he’s particularly love the way he talks – Ned has the odd habit of attaching “diddly,” “doodly” and other nonsensical phrases to his sentences. Here’s a few Flanderisms for you to enjoy:

  • We’re done for, we’re done-diddly done for, we’re done-diddly-doodily, done diddly-doodily, done diddly-doodly, done diddly-doodily!
  • Okaly-dokay-doo
  • Son of a gun didaly-on
  • Sounds spine-tingly-dingly
  • Hi-didly-ho neighborino
And what makes it even funnier is, all his relatives speak the same. i.e. When a Spanish cousin visited, he said:
Buenos ding dong diddly días señor ~ José Flanders

I just love Ned, I hope you do too!
