I’ve heard is said many times that” We must look after our young people because they are the future of our (Salvation) Army (church)”.
Personally I have a little bit of an issue with that statement, as I consider them to be the present and the future of our church!
Just because they are young, and very early in their Christian journey, doesn’t mean they don’t have deep personal experience of God in their lives already. Plus, whatever we do or say to these youngsters just now in their formative years, will shape their Christian development and help mould them into the adults they will become.
So for me, the young folk in our church are a huge part of our present, because without them, our church has no future.
