I’m sure we’ve all heard the following verses from scripture, many times:
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
but have you really considered what that really meant for Christ?
This Easter can I ask that you consider the following feelings and emotions that Christ must have experienced on that first Easter:
- pain
- anguish
- disappointment, that the world hadn’t accepted his message
- scared, not for himself, but for the world
Can you imagine feeling as Christ did, but still being willing to die to just for you and me? I can’t, and that is why Christ’s death at Calvary shows what a huge sacrifice God was willing to pay for us.
For He made us a way
by which we have been saved
He’s the Saviour of the world
So we lift up a shout for his fame and renown
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord
Jesus, Saviour of the world
We praise God this Easter, for sending Jesus to the world and dying such a slow painful death, just so we could be forgiven. Don’t let Christ’s pain be in vain this Easter, let God into your heart today.
