Friendship is one of the greatest needs and one of the most exalted blessings of the human heart. No-one likes being lonely, and that’s probably why as all seek to find someone to share our heart with, to love, and to confide in.
If we find our soul mate, our one true love, we are fortunate. Even so it can still not provide true contentment as the heart of our fellow humans, no matter how noble or lovable, still has its weaknesses and is imperfect and so let us down. Yes our fellow-man can give us love and support, but they can never fully provide our needs during life’s darkest days.
The good news is, there is one heart that can and will provide our every need during every day and every situation, and that is the heart of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Christ can provide all the love we need, and all the support we need when we are united to Him by grace.
