So here’s today’s suggestion:
Don’t let stress take over your sleep
I know this blog post is about brightening your day and my suggestion for today is about the middle of the night, but technically that is part of your day!
I’m sure we’ve all had a few nights when either we’ve struggled to fall asleep in the first place, or we’ve slept for a few hours and then woken up and been unable to get back to sleep again because our minds are focusing on all the stresses and strains of life, which in turn makes it impossible for our minds to be at rest so we can sleep. So instead of letting those stressing thoughts take over our minds when we can’t sleep, why not get up and make better use of your sleepless time, by reading, meditating or praying. i.e. do some of the things you struggle to find time to do during the daytime.
If you’re awake during the night, make good use of the time instead of stressing about things which, in the cold light of day, will not seem nearly as bad.
