My mum used to use a phrase quite often which when I was younger I didn’t really understand. Like so many other things my Mum told me when I was younger, the older I’ve got, the more these things seem to make sense to me.

The phrase I’m referring to is one I’m sure many of you will have come across, it is

It’s not what you know, it’s who you know

I’ve certainly found in many aspects of my life that this phrase is definitely true, because regardless of how much you may be able to contribute to something with knowledge, finance, support etc, it all means nothing if you don’t know the “right” people!
