Small goals

The last couple of days I’ve been talking about the fear of failure that affects so many people. Having talked about why some fear failure, I now want to focus on some possible ways to help overcome a fear of failure.

It’s all about goals and targets!

Start by setting small achievable goals that will help you build your confidence. Having set a goal, start thinking about all the possible outcomes, positive and negative, and rationally consider what may happen, developing contingency plans as you go. As you go through these possible outcomes you’ll hopefully find answers/solutions to all possible negative scenarios, in turn helping you thinking positively.

Repeat these steps by setting another goal, and then another goal. By moving forward slowly and steadily, you’ll begin to overcome your fear of failure.

Good luck!
