Have you ever been asked to swap places with someone? I’m sure we’ve all been asked to swap places with someone at some time or another, even if it doesn’t actually involve physically changes places with the other person. For example:
- During physical education at school, you get split up into teams, and sometimes the teacher can ask two people to swap teams.
- At work, we can be asked to swap tasks with someone.
- In a choir or band, the leader may ask two people to exchange the parts they are singing/playing.
Whatever the scenario or situation where two people are asked to swap places, the person in charge has always got a good result for it, maybe even the best interests of the people in mind.
Doesn’t this replicate what happened that first Easter, when Jesus took our place on the cross, just so we could be forgiven of our sins. So this Easter remember that God had our best interests at heart when Jesus took our place on the cross.
