We often talk talk about how, as Christians, we must forgive others when they hurt or upset us.
Colossians 3:13 (The Passion Translation)
Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them.
But forgiveness isn’t just something we need to offer to others. It can sometimes be easier to forgive others for what they do/say, than for us to forgive ourselves for our mistakes. It’s probably just because we feel we should be more in control of ourselves, our words and our actions, that we have higher expectations of ourselves. However we must treat ourselves just as well as we treat other, by showing ourselves forgiveness.
