I’ve mentioned before, but I’ll say it again, I’m a perfectionist. It took me a long time to realise that I can’t be good at everything, nor can I expect others to be perfect either. When I realised this though I started to be kinder to myself and to others.
I still aim for perfection for myself, even though realistically I know I’ll never achieve it; and I try to encourage others to aim for perfection, although now I know that as long as they are doing their best, and learning from their mistakes and improving, they are being perfect.
A big part of being a well-adjusted person is accepting that you can’t be good at everything.

I dare to live the life of faith, the life of challenge God has planned. Of holiness and victory, the power of living every day. I, I dare to be different, I dare to believe. I dare to be different God’s Spirit receive. I dare to be different my life sacrificed, I dare to be different by living like Christ. (Salvation Army)
