Reminded

Several times in the last few days, I’ve been reminded of this beautiful song whose words have a great reminder for us all, particularly when going through some tough times.

Somebody Prayed For Me

When my heart was so broken that I could not pray,
When love wasn’t easy to see.
Someone was there, somebody cared,
Somebody prayed for me.

Somebody went to the throne of heaven,
Somebody lifted my name.
Bringing me into His holy presence,
Saying what I could not say.
Somebody showed me the face of His mercy,
When darkness was all I could see.
Somebody pleaded the Blood of Jesus,
Somebody prayed for me.

When the future looked hopeless and I’d given up,
When I had lost sight of my dreams
Somebody near, dried every tear,
Somebody prayed for me.

Somebody went to the throne of heaven,
Somebody lifted my name.
Bringing me into His holy presence,
Saying what I could not say.
Somebody showed me the face of His mercy,
When darkness was all I could see.
Somebody pleaded the Blood of Jesus,
Somebody prayed for me.

Somebody went to the throne of heaven,
Somebody lifted my name.
Bringing me into His holy presence,
Saying what I could not say.
Somebody showed me the face of His mercy,
When darkness was all I could see.
Somebody pleaded the Blood of Jesus,
Somebody prayed, Somebody prayed,
Somebody prayed, Somebody prayed,
Somebody prayed, Somebody prayed for me,
Somebody Prayed for me.

I’ve been having a bit of a tough time recently, and if I’m honest, have been feeling a bit sorry for myself, and in some ways, a bit forgotten. So it was a great reminder a few days ago when the above song came on while I was driving.

Just a few hours later while listening to some music on shuffle, it again came on. And then last night a friend sent me a recording of this song sung by the songsters (senior choir) at my Salvation Army, at their practice last week. They had spent time praying for those of our church family who are dealing with health or life issues just now. What a powerful reminder it was!

So never think that no-one is praying for you, no matter how alone and forgotten you may feel. God will always find a way to let you know you aren’t forgotten and that He has plans for you.
