If someone you loved was convicted of a crime they didn’t commit, how would you feel?
I’m sure we’d all do everything we could to find the evidence that would prove our loved one’s innocence. We’d spend all our money, to get the best lawyer possible to help defend them.
What if despite all your best attempts, your loved was convicted of the crime and sentenced to death, how would you feel?
If you could, would you swap places with them, so that their life was spared, and you were the one put to death?
Well that’s exactly what Jesus did, he died so we could be free – forgiven and free.
Would you take the place of this man? Would you take the nails from his hands? Would you take the place of this man? Would you take the nails from his hands?
I cannot imagine how God felt as he watched his son die on cross so we could be forgiven. I cannot imagine how Jesus felt, knowing he had to make the ultimate sacrifice, on a cross, alone, at Calvary.
Would you willingly have swapped places with Jesus, knowing the pain and the agony that lay ahead?
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.John 15:13 (NLT)
