Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.
Have you ever considered life to be like a backpack? Sounds daft doesn’t it – so imagine you have your own ‘backpack of life’, and in that backpack is every problem, every hurt, every worry and every stress that you are living with just now. Now imagine that you have to carry your ‘backpack of life’ around on your back, all day, every day.
How heavy is your ‘backpack of life’? Is it full to overflowing, or is it completely empty?
We all go through times in life when we let our ‘backpack of life’ fill up. When will we ever learn that we must take all our anxieties to God, and leave them with Him.
Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 (The Passion Translation)
Don’t struggle to carry your ‘backpack of life’ around with you. Whenever your ‘backpack of life’ starts to fill with life’s stresses, and you’re struggling to find your way, take it to God, empty out all your stresses and anxieties, and leave them at His feet.
All to Jesus I surrender, All to him I freely give; I will ever love and trust him, In his presence daily live I surrender all, I surrender all. All to thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender all All there is of me, Lord, All there is of me, Time and talents, day by day, All I bring to thee; All there is of me, Lord, All there is of me, On thine altar here I lay All there is of me.
