Time for change

Earlier today on Bellshill Salvation Army Band’s Facebook page I shared some devotions. I’d like to share those devotions with you tonight.

Time for change!

There are times in our lives when we find changes which we’d never choose to make are imposed on us, such as those we’ve experienced in the last 14 months because of the COVID pandemic. Although hopefully as restrictions start to ease in many areas, we will see that life as we used to know it pre COVID, is gradually returning.

Change is nothing new to any of us, as it’s something that is part of everyone’s life. There are times when we decide it’s time to change something about our ourselves, or how we’re living our lives. For example

• Change your job.
• Move house.
• Take up a new hobby.
• Change your hairstyle.
• Redecorate your home.
• Change your eating habits.

Other changes in our lives are ones that as Christians, God requires us to make. We’re only human so we need the help and direction from the only One who is able to help and guide us in every situation we face.

It can feel at times that God may not be helping us through a difficult situation as quickly as we’d like, or in the way we’d like. But maybe we’re forgetting that because as humans we are imperfect, and as such maybe God is trying to show us that it is actually us that needs to change.

Sometimes God doesn’t change your situation because he is trying to change your heart.

May we will always seek God’s guidance so that we may be willing to acknowledge when it is us that need to change. God will help us change our lives, so that we can become more like Him, we just need to give Him our heart.
