Think you’re perfect?

Someone recently said to me

Well you must think you’re perfect, just because you go to church

Wow, what a statement! What an inaccurate statement!

I pointed out to the person who said this to me, that it’s because I know I’m not perfect that I ‘go’ to church. I know I will never be perfect, as only God is perfect. However I know that by learning more about God, his teaching, and by asking Him to help me become more like him, I know He will help me become a more like Him. I do however acknowledge that I am not perfect, not will I ever be.

I can only assume that the person who told me I must think I am perfect, cannot be a Christian, as I’m sure any Christian would agree that we go to church because we are far from perfect, not because we are perfect.
